When someone DM'd me a picture of the roasted chicken flavored Doritos that Teso carries, I dropped everything I was doing and made the brisk 0.7 mile walk. What an incredible innovation. The Japanese just get it.
I'll never forget my first trip to Japan back in 2018 when I was a young 22 year old frat boy. The level of respect that is deeply ingrained in the culture changed me, and is something I have carried with me throughout the rest of my life. It took me from shotgunning natty lights to judging people who douse their sushi in soy sauce. Traveling and seeing the world is great for the soul... My b, nothing gets me rambling like my love for Japan, let me lock in.
I walked into Teso, passing by mostly Japanese customers, straight to the chips section. Their flavor selection was completely overwhelming. Options ranged from steak, scallop, fried crab, fried chicken, Italian red meat, Mexican chicken tomato, to the holy grail that is roasted chicken flavored Doritos. How could you not respect this innovation? If you can think of it, the Japanese will make a chip flavor out of it.
I grabbed the tissi flavored Doritos and walked to a local park to sit and try them. I opened the bag, stuck my nose in it, and took a big inhale to try and bless my nostrils with the scent of my beloved bird. Much to my chagrin, it just smelled like Doritos.
I took the first bite, and waited for a blast of rotisserie chicken flavor that has become my life blood. But it never came. It tasted like bbq flavor with a hint of instant ramen chicken seasoning. A 6/10 for me. I will acknowledge that my expectations were far too high.
I need to reiterate how much I respect this innovation. To me, the real success is in the effort. I RESPECT THE HUSTLE!

Read moreWorst customer service, doesn’t know return policy. I can to exchange my sunscreen I bought , by mistake took the one in shape of stick but it wasn’t stick. Box was opened , not the sunscreen. I arrived explained the situation, multiple people came by, no idea who is who , speaking their language, one of the female employees opened the sunscreen 🧴?! Why ? I don’t know , because I didn’t open it , I only unboxed it at work, because I needed sunscreen. Mind you I bought 2 today, one was Biore liquid, that I was replenishing here all the time. Now the receipt says original product packaging, won’t be accepted without receipt. I will leave a photo . Seller started yelling at me for trying to return the opened box , I mean it doesn’t say unopened packaging, it only says original packaging. I will attach what that means to store employees trying to gaslight me to keep the product I didn’t needed. Why do I need 2 liquid sunscreen. Never coming back. Rude staff , acting like they are in the market. Male sales guy who finally processed my return , had the nerve to tell me I am accepting this time next time I won’t , why are you implying I am some customer who al the time returns stuff. Zero stars for customer service. Do not yell at customers nor anyone ever. Bunching up and talking unprofessionally. Also employee who opened the sunscreen in front of me wanted me to take back this product, why would you open I. Front of me , and I should buy that now ?! Mind you I also bought perfume today , box was taped and it was open ! I didn’t even bother returning that. I will take my business to...
Read moreI’ve been here multiple times and each time I have been followed by multiple staff. (Note- I have seen many black people say they were racially profiled here. I am not black, I’m white.) They have a good selection of items but I always feel very uncomfortable. Also, the store is very small so it doesn’t really seem like a place for multiple employees needing to follow people.
Also, I once bought a nail polish from here and when I got home I noticed literally like the entire bottom glass part was broken off, like raw could easily could cut you glass. My receipt said that I would be able to return it, so my father offered to go and ask for an exchange of the same item but the employee said no. Ultimately the manager came over and said yes. I would like to add that my father did not ask rudely and wasn’t trying to get the employee in trouble at all, my father is a very chill dude and while he is tall is very non threatening. He also didn’t ask for the manager, I can’t remember but either the manager was just there or the employee called him over.
I would highly recommend going to the Reiwatakiya a bit father down. The employees don’t follow you around, and they are super kind there. They have a way better selection of skincare and makeup if that’s your thing, and have loads upon loads of Sanrio and...
