MG Hair Artistic Salon — Local services in New York

The service is just horrible. Admittedly I arrived 5 minutes late for the appointment. They made me wait 30+ minutes. When they finally arrange a barber for me and have the hair cut, I found out that the barber's level price is $10 expensive than the one in my appointment at the counter when making payment. And in fact, the minute this "new" expensive barber arrange me to sit, the barber in my appointment (I know it's him because I overheard him complaining to the receptionist that he was swamped and didn't want to take a new customer quickly at the counter, which they seem also don't care I was sitting beside and could hear their conversation) then took a new customer coming after me just two minutes later. I really don't know the logics behind it. Then coming to the counter for payment, the receptionist charged $20 more than the price in my appointment. I asked why then I was advised about the more expensive barber I got AND they have $10 credit card processing fee. This receptionist girl don't even bother to mention the processing fee but just add it to the final bill. At that point of time I got really mad and paid with cash without tip.

The service is really THE WORST I have experienced in NY and you can see that every employee in this place...

Just asked for a perm with Anthony - was super nervous about it as it’s my first perm and i was asking for extremely tight curls - Anthony did such a great job and I’m so happy he did my hair!

He made sure i was absolutely comfortable and would have the best result - wrapping each strand with precision and ensuring that the integrity of my hair would be okay as i had some leftover balayage on my ends. I was impressed with his level of control, understanding, and experience and i really felt comfortable undergoing such a transformative hair journey with MGLIC. He made some suggestions about the curl - and i trust him wholeheartedly:

10/10 would recommend Anthony for your next perm! I would go to him for everything hair now after that...

Excellent salon with talented stylists. Everyone there really seems to put in time not only working with you to understand your hair goals and vision, but also making your overall experience there pleasant 🙂

I had a 5+ hr appointment to retouching my colored hair 😬 I usually dread these appointments because other hair salons have not liked it when I browse my phone or otherwise look at a screen during them, because doing so made the stylist's job harder (my head would be moving about).
