Edit as of 01/24/2022: The management got back to me. They offered to refund me so I agreed. Three weeks later on December 20, I was told the refund had been processed. 5 weeks later, I still can't see the money on my bank account and I keep chasing the manager to get updates. My massage took place exactly 5 MONTHS AGO.
Original post: Hi, my husband offered me a Soho Skin Spa gift card. I booked through their website a 80 min Himalayan salt hot stone massage thinking I was going to spend a wonderful time.
It turned out that when I arrived, the technician told me that he was NOT TRAINED to do a Himalayan salt hot stone massage. I went back to the desk to ask of they had another technician available and of course not.
The technician told me that this was going to be fine and that he would do a mix between a Swedish massage and a Himalayan salt hot stone one. I said okay as I didn't have any other choice (no other free therapist + I was moving out of state the same week and couldn't not come back).
The result was just HORRIBLE. The therapist, Omar, was not mindful of my concerns and completely NEGLIGENT. I ended up having BURNS ON THE BACK even if I repeatedly told him that the stones were too hot and even yelled in surprise.
I also asked him to stop putting too much pressure on me as it was very PAINFUL but this again, wasn't fixed.
His attitude was very POOR, very NEGATIVE (I could feel his bad energy) and totally UNPROFESSIONAL (he just bumped the massage table several times, left me in the cold, etc.). You can easily find other bad reviews about him (see the screenshot attached).
As not performed correctly, this massage was not beneficial at all I left the massage room CRYING and headed for the desk. The woman was very nice to me as I told her my story and just asked to get my money back.
I'd recommend to STAY AWAY from this masseuse and more generally from Skin Spa. This awful massaged happened end of August 2021 and we're mid-December and my husband has still not be refunded! The manager Malcom even told us yesterday that they were only processing now the refunds for 2020. So here, the company is not taking its responsibility: this massage was nothing relaxing, they offered me a masseuse with no knowledge of proper technique, I left injured with multiple burns on the back. Elaine is my massage therapist and makes me feel so relaxed with each visit. She always asks if i have any concern areas and is attentive to pay attention to any aches and pains I might have. Ive definitely fallen asleep on the massage table. After becoming pregnant we switched to prenatal massages and I am so happy I was already a regular as they have been a total life saver for my changing body.

She took her time getting to know my skin concerns and provided recommendations of what to do at home without pushing products. She also recommended other treatments that may be worth considering for next time w/o pressure, which actually leads me to wanting to purchase those recs to go with my next facial I already scheduled with her! Glad I gave Skin Spa another try after the 1st experience. Their customer service was great about the first facial mishap and I think I've found my new go- to. 9/2021: Average facial at best. Started 10 mins late and 10 minutes of the facial were dedicated to steam only, therefore only got a 30 minute facial. The estitician did spend time talking to me about my concerns, but overall, except for the steam/extractions, the facial itself seemed like something I do on my own at home.
