My boyfriend and I love omakase, and Sushi Lin has always been one of our favorites—especially the Soho location. When we found out a new UWS location had opened in our neighborhood, we decided to celebrate our anniversary there on December 28th. Since it had just opened, reservations were only available by phone. Excited, we opted for the Full Omakase experience, and our favorite was the Uni Toro Caviar—so good that we ordered extra pieces. The food was good, and we enjoyed every piece on the course. The presentation was beautiful. However, the service was disappointing—our waitress had no knowledge of the menu, making ordering and asking questions frustrating. Maybe she was newly hired, but it still affected the experience. As for drinks, it was a shame that the 0.75L bottle of white cloudy nigori, which is perfectly balanced—not too sweet, not too dry, was out of stock. Instead, we tried Kitaya, Shirakawago, and Dassai 45—the last two were pretty good. The atmosphere was pleasant—since it’s a new spot, it wasn’t crowded, and we never felt rushed. Unfortunately, while the sushi itself wasn’t bad, both my partner and I experienced stomach issues the next day, which was concerning. Something was definitely off with the fish, or it could be that the chef prepared the food with one hand without gloves(I only noticed this while writing the review and reviewing all the photos and videos I took during our experience). Overall, I expected much more from Sushi Lin. While the food was beautifully presented, the poor service and post-dinner discomfort left us disappointed.

Last night, I brought two of my best friends to experience this omakase. My friend used to work in a sushi restaurant and she was full of praise for the freshness and taste of the ingredients at Sushi Lin! For me, the most amazing thing was the taste of the sauce. The Hokkaido shrimp was my favorite tonight! Highest recommendation! I also liked the taste of the tuna belly, and the Japanese Kumamoto oysters were very fresh and sweet! Regarding the dining experience, I would say it was great! The bar and the table are completely different. At the bar, I can feel the enthusiasm and dedication of the chef. And the lighting at the table I think is very suitable for a date. There was a waiter who was a boy, I forgot to ask his name. What impressed me was that he was very sorry that he didn't speak much of my language, but he still tried to introduce the food to me seriously. He was very friendly and respectful to us.

It feels like somewhat elevated sushi places are popping up everywhere in the neighborhood, but this one is a welcome addition, with a great Omakase experience at reasonable prices (just $55 for 7 sushi + 1 handroll lunch, as low as $35 for a 5 + 1 mini Omakase dinner to as much as $125 for their full omakase). The sushi was full of novel pairings like salmon with seared tomato, to classic luxe offerings like toro with uni and caviar and gold leaf. The seared foie gras and shrimp was my favorite. The sushi rice had character. Each piece had thoughtful accents like zested yuzu or shaved truffle. Not the best Omakase I have ever had, but fantastic experience for the price. Their regular sushi and sashimi plates were somewhat forgettable, but their lunch Omakase was a great deal. Highly highly recommended.

I recently discovered Sushi Lin Upper West side and was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming ambiance set the tone for what would be a fantastic meal.

The sushi here is nothing short of perfection! The fish is incredibly fresh, and every omakase piece is beautifully crafted with attention to detail. My personal favorite was the Salmon Tomato and uni toro caviar ,which had the perfect balance of flavors and textures.

The staff is super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right throughout the dinner. Whether you're a sushi lover or just trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit!

I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch sushi and a great dining...
