The apartment is a safety hazard. A Local Law 11 construction has been going on since approximately July 2024. It's one thing if we just have to endure the constant drilling noise that starts around 8:30am sharp every week day - literally every week day until the afternoon that it's been near impossible to work from home. But we've also had construction dust and debris pile up INSIDE our unit. We thought someone came into our unit without permission but apparently the drilling is causing dust to seep through the window into our apartment. Not to mention that we never go out to our own balcony anymore since it's always covered in dust no matter how often we clean it. Then today, the blinds next to our bedroom window fell from the ceiling. Apparently, the drilling (or the vibration from drilling) caused the fixtures to weaken. The blinds are heavy and metallic - we could have been seriously injured if we happened to be near it. We have started to look into reporting these things to the authorities. It's even more infuriating since the management company had the nerve to say that there were no planned constructions in our lease, even though they knew about the Local Law 11 construction happening before they showed us the apartment when we...
Read moreAvoid if you like any semblance of peace. Sophie Kim's review is not at all an exaggeration, there's been incessant drilling every single weekday (except for bad weather) starting at 8:30am since July 2024. It's loud enough to make working from home with noise cancelling headphones and even the best voice isolating mic impossible. They're barely half finished with repairs. Even outside of Local Law 11 work, they're constantly renovating apartments as soon as someone moves out to jack up the rent, so enjoy hearing them jackhammering the floor of an apartment 10 floors away at least every month. Think you're safe outside of the building? Nope! A tenant has been throwing beer bottles from their balcony onto the street below multiple times and management has done nothing to investigate or stop them. Management only cares about getting new and higher paying tenants in and doesn't care at all once you're locked into a lease. Wondering why you don't see more 1 star reviews? You can't leave anonymous reviews and tenants are afraid of retaliation with (now illegal) insane rent increases. I'm giving two stars (instead of 1) because there are some truly kind and helpful staff members in the building, but unfortunately they are in...
