It's telling that when I first walked by the window of Style on J one night, my first thought was "if I didn't know better, I'd think this boutique was Jason [Alexander]'s". Given his great taste and lack of fear, I wasn't surprised as much as grateful to find out that's exactly the case.
What can you expect? Prints. Texture. Contrasts. Help with that right fit. Fun brands that are too niche for most other sellers. And by all means, ask Jason for help picking things out and getting everything just rightâtwo of my favorite pieces of clothing were from his previous gig, and they still remain the most flattering in my closet.
Jason is body positive and is here for you, whatever your style aspires to be, but also will make sure you do the best and most flattering version of whatever that is.
Worth the visit. I'm super glad to see this place open up nearby, but I'd commute to check it...
Read moreI was SO happy I stopped in today and met the owner! Thereâs been such a gap in Hellâs Kitchen for a gay-owned shopping destination and Style on J has all the makings of being a new, better version of what Tagg was in its heyday.
It was a fun, LGBTQ+ inclusive experience shopping there, finding some of my favorite brands (e.g. St33le, Modus Vivendi, etc.), but also some new ones. The owner is a stylist and the store was filled with other fabulous gay men, all of whom were willing to give honest hot takes and land me looking and feeling great.
Iâll definitely be back...
Read moreI love this place. I can't pretend to be a horrifically knowledgeable or trendy person when it comes to fashion, but you don't have to be when you come here. This is more than a clothing store; you have an exceptionally skilled stylist as the owner who will make everything incredibly easy for you, give you several options based on what you're looking for, and give you great feedback. It's some of the easiest and best shopping you'll ever do. Highly...
