I couldnât think of a reason to give a second star as there were a few MAJOR issues during my appointment.
First, this was extraordinarily painful. The filing and electric nail drill were used on my finger itself (where the skin meets the nail) and were really overdone. Images show this.
Second, my manicure was a powder dip/ SNS. There was no tip extension, so my actual nail was shaped. Part of the challenge, and I understand this, is there isnât much to work with. The length when I came in presented a clear challenge and I am trying to be understanding. I requested rounded nails and the nail tech recommended almond. I regret this deeply because my nails were too short for almond. As a professional, he should have recommended square or agreed to do rounded. They now look pointy, âskinnyâ in his words, and kind of elf-ish. Luckily, they will grow out.
Third, there was a disagreement about the cost of service. I made a reservation online for a $50 session and they requested a higher amount. I was told after the process that the rate increased, but that this hadnât been adjusted online. They still tried to charge the higher amount. While not significantly higher in any way (only $3), this shouldnât have been as long a discussion as it was.
Fourth, the appointment did feel rushed and not as detail oriented as where I normally go. There is polish visible in these images (which is after I peeled off most) on my skin.
Fifth, I was hoping for a larger selection or dip powder colors. I came in wanting pastel yellow and there is not a light and dark variation of every color. I could have gone with bright yellow which I liked or the silver glitter which I went with. I am glad I went with the more muted color, because I donât want anyone to see my nails (itâs really because they were over-filed on the sides in an effort to achieve the almond shape).
Sixth, the nail polish brushes and store were clean, but the buffer and file were not âunused.â Other nail techs had different equipment and had the individual, single-use buffers. I donât know if this should be a concern, but itâs worth noting.
With a bit more care, understanding, communication, and thoughtfulness, I would have been able to recommend this place. Unfortunately my service was too disappointing to return or recommend.
I have not truly processed this experience and will return in a few days as they grow out if I have a change in heart on these. I want to be fair, but honest. I hope they...
Read moreDO NOT go here for your own sake. These people are EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. Sure they know how to do nails, so does every other nail salon. However, the lady that was doing my nails made multiple rude remarks to me including saying what i wanted was ugly and just decided to do what she wanted to do on MY nails instead. She also called up other workers who were working to come to me and her and were speaking in their own language and laughing when they looked at my nails and the old lady decided to lean on me when I was trying to text which was very weird and made me extremely uncomfortable. My back was also hurting and didnt want the massage but the lady ignored me once again. They made more passive aggressive remarks to me like talking about how much I paid for the appointment on classpass was âso cheapâ and I should pay more after the nails were done. Once the nails were done, when I was given a quote that extra cosmetics on my nails would be $10, suddenly she upcharged me to $26. Throughout this whole time I was really unhappy with how disrespectful these people at the salon are, I was still nice and tipped $5 and what do you know, I get another snarky remark ânot enoughâ and they blocked the door from me entering. The people working here will literally do anything to make you uncomfortable. If you read this and donât believe me, go see for yourself. Absolutely disgusting and literally never had this happen to me before at...
Read moreBeen here a few times and itâs a hit and miss, most of the staff donât want to work there, will only show any interest if you buy the additional services, a regular pedicure shows total boredom. I got one of those, there was no massage, no cleaning my heel or scubbing for calluses, total disinterest and I asked for rounded nails, does this look rounded to you? I could have done this slip shod job at home! 35$ for nothing Beware, they are also not very hygienic, the lady who did my nails did not bring the instruments out of the sanitizer, and from the last time I had been here to this time, my nails all had some sort of fungus on them because of the polish and the instruments they had used and two of my little toenails had fallen off . The person helping me was completely disinterested and on her phone the entire time, talking to somebody and showed interest in her work. She also poked me a couple of times with the instruments and made...
