Sunrise Medical Laboratories — Local services in New York

When I got there there was a receptionist at the desk who was talking to a nurse /medical assistant, as she looked down at her keyboard. She did not even look up to greet me or acknowledge me whatsoever. There was no way she did not see me there. Finally I said pleasantly, good morning, and she finally looked up and dealt with me. When I was brought back to a room, the one who took the blood was very nice and professional. (That's the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. That, and the fact that I did not have to wait long). Then had to use bathroom to do the urine test. Bathroom was dirty. It looked like yellow urine stains on rhe walls. Instructions posted on wall said to use a wipe to cleanse area before giving sample. There were no wipes.I went out and said, excuse me, there are no wipes. "Oh. That's for a different test". What? Okay... It's incredible they are not embarrassed to sent people into that...

I did not like it here. I fainted for the first time ever getting blood drawn, and the young woman drawing my blood seemed very unprepared to handle the situation, she was very nervous and unconfident and did not soothe me at all in my half-conscious, nauseous, frightened state. Then her supervisor took over and she was dismissive and not attuned to how half-conscious I was. She was defensive at times when I tried to say “something about my arm doesn’t feel right, I’ve gotten my blood drawn many times and it never hurts like this.” I felt like she wasn’t listening and didn’t believe me.

There was a third nurse/receptionist who was very sweet and gentle, her caring tone and attempt to listen to me made me feel like I wasn’t crazy for having such an unusual experience with...

So I have had no issues with the staff, they’ve all been fairly friendly and professional. Getting my blood drawn is comfortable and no issues there. On one occasion they did mix up my samples with someone else’s but a quick fix by Doc Care… However, the conditions of the office itself is pretty disgusting. Whoever is in charge of maintenance needs to be fired. The bathroom is gross (toilet and sink clean) you can tell it hasn’t been painted or thoroughly cleaned (walls/floor) in a while. There are glue traps/boxes for bugs all around the office. You can even see a hole near the base of the toilet as if it had been replaced with a smaller size. It’s dingy and dirty. Aside from patients, the staff should not have to work in...
