Bar 47 — Restaurant in New York

Bar 47 has been one of my go-to spots for a casual night out, and overall, it offers a good bang for your buck. The bar food is decent—nothing gourmet, but it hits the spot when you're looking for some solid pub grub. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great place to unwind without breaking the bank.

I've always had decent service at Bar 47, which is why my recent experience was a bit of a letdown. On my last visit, I was helped by a tall, skinny female bartender who was extremely rude and seemed utterly disinterested in her job. At around 6ft tall, she’s hard to miss. Her attitude was off-putting and made me wonder why she chose to work as a bartender if she clearly didn't want to be there. There are plenty of other jobs out there that might suit her better if she finds bartending so unsatisfactory.

Aside from this unfortunate encounter, the rest of the staff have generally been friendly and efficient. I hope the management takes note and provides better training for their employees to ensure a consistently pleasant experience for all patrons.

In summary, Bar 47 is a decent spot with good value for money and tasty bar food. Just keep an eye out for the tall bartender—if you spot her, you might want to ask for someone else...

I had a most distressed experience at this bar in the Bronx… Bar 47 exhibits racist , bigot behavior. The bartender refused to serve me, citing that I appeared too aggressive, because the lady next to me refused to let me sit in an empty seat. This was my first time going to a bar in the Bronx, and I have never encountered such treatment in Jersey City. However, the situation escalated when a short bartender, who resembled an Oompa Loompa, (you know who you are) no need to mention names…approached me and insisted that I leave. When I asked for an explanation, he simply stated that it was because I looked aggressive.

It seems that this bar caters to individuals who resemble the staff and if you have a slightly darker complexion, it becomes a problem. I assure you, this will not be the last time you hear from me regarding this matter. I have faced racial discrimination on multiple occasions, but tonight's experience truly caught me off guard. I went here with a friend and I must say that it was a really nice vibe there the music was not too loud or overpowering but it was enough if you wanted to dance you could. I went on a Saturday night and it was just really chill the ambiance was just really mellow as well I really like the the decor. It kind of gave me like an old school maybe jazz New Orleans type of vibe. The bathroom was very clean and in order to wash your hands you do have to go outside. The drinks were pretty good as far as what my friend said and for me I kept it simple with Titos and cranberry on the rocks.
