Does Anything go Right???
Last month bestie and I were on a Broadway/Off-Broadway marathon and as result we landed right in the middle of The Play That Goes Wrong.
We grabbed dinner and headed to New World Stages for the show. Little did we know the show starts before curtain call with a little audience interaction and participation. The start was just the beginning, of everything literally going wrong in this play.
To be honest, we did no prior research / Googling and after the show I realized this play has been around for some time. However, we honestly had no idea what to expect. We quickly realized this is a play of mishaps and slapstick comedy.
I can sometimes appreciate being surprised and Iām glad I didnāt have any prior knowledge from reading reviews. This allowed me to go with the flow and enjoy the show for the calamity it was. Nonetheless I can understand, those who do not necessarily enjoy this genre of entertainment.
Both bestie and I laughed and didnāt take the production to seriously and as a result we enjoyed another play in the month of all things Sho-eBruaury!!
Just A Note:
I recommend you wait to eat after the show if you want to fit in your seatā¦. EXTRA EXTRA Snug is the theme with...

They're funny even when they're not trying to be. The show is hilarious! The only problem I had had nothing to do with the show itself. For some reason, people can't keep their mouths shut! I was seated next to and around a few people who (like me) had seen the show before. But, unlike me, they just couldn't keep their mouths shut and started spoiling the show for people who hadn't seen it before. Luckily, the people with me who hadn't saw it before didn't hear much of the spoilers. My other issue is people are now bringing very young kids (under 8 years old) to the show. One family bought very young kids and were in the front row using coloring books. You know it's bad when members of the cast bring it up. One cast member said "There are a lot of very young kids in here today. You DO know that this isn't for them, right". People thought it was funny until a baby cried out. Parents the show is very funny and makes for a great night out but leave your kids at home, especially if they're under 10 because there are some scenes that aren't appropriate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give this 10 stars, if I could. I have never laughed so hard during a performance, not even a stand-up comedy show. The actors were excellent, I don't know how they stayed in character during all the shenanigans. This is an absolute must-see! Just be aware that if you sit in the front row, you might get spit on. The theater is actually below ground, which is kind of cool. From the box office, you take an escalator down. Snacks & drinks are available for purchase & you are allowed to consume them inside the theater. The temperature inside was comfortable, not freezing as is usually the case in theaters. My only complaint is minor - the bathroom signage could be better. There was a paper taped near the door explaining their policy on using whichever bathroom you felt most comfortable with - all well and good - but WHICH bathroom is technically for Men and which one is technically for Women, so I can choose accordingly? Tiny MEN/WOMEN signs were on the doors and not visible when propped open as they were, so it was confusing until someone else...
