The Up Studio : Architecture, Interior, and Brand Design — Local services in New York

I hired Upstudio to assist with remodeling my condo in Miami, and they highly recommended a contractor named Carlos Moscardi. They showcased past projects he had completed for them, and based on my trust in their judgment, I decided to hire him. Before starting the work, Carlos required a 50% deposit, which I paid. On the first day, he came in and demolished one of my bathroom walls, but then completely disappeared.

When I reached out to Upstudio, they expressed shock at his behavior but did not follow up or help me get him to complete the project or return my significant deposit. After consulting with a lawyer, Carlos promised to refund my money but failed to follow through.

Recently, I was awarded a final judgment to recover my payment (Carlos did not appear in court to defend himself). It turns out he has since filed for bankruptcy, leaving me with no way to recover my funds. My only recourse now is to caution others against hiring Upstudio or Carlos Moscardi for their projects.
