If I could give negative stars I would. I wish I had the name of the person who waxed me, but I do not and I do not recommend this place in general. It was my first time going here, I went in for a simple Bikini Wax - just the Bikini Line. I got on the bed and the waxer instantly began slathering wax on the top of my pubic area - NOT THE BIKINI LINE. I was in shock and appalled, there was zero communication to what I wanted and at that point I knew I couldn't stop her considering the entire top of my pubic hair was ripped from my body. I told her to not go further than that, that I did not want a landing strip or Brazilian, I was here for a Bikini Wax. She also decided to charge me and extra $7 for "inner thigh" - my inner thigh was not touched, that was just part of my bikini line, I would truly LOVE to see what they consider "bikini line" and what salon measures the length a bikini line should be - every body is different. My consent was absolutely violated and I will never be returning or recommending this place. I left the salon and cried because I felt so disgusting looking at myself, if I could post photos I would, it is completely uneven and not at all what I went in for. She did ask if she could "even it out" (basically give me a landing strip) to which I said no because I have to grow the hair back anyways and quite frankly, I did not want her hands on my body anymore. I have already contacted support on the Uni K website regarding a refund, have not received response, and just got off the phone with the studio itself to demand a full refund and was told that a "manager would be contacted and they will call me back". They tried to put me on the phone with the waxer which felt like an intimidation tactic and I'm not sure why they would expect me to speak to someone who violated my consent and body. If I do not get my refund I will be disputing with my bank - this situation has been horribly handled and I truly think they need to go over professionalism and how to approach clients at a waxing salon, first things first, ASK THE CLIENT...
Read moreThe front desk lady was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I asked to see my invoice, she initially declined and instead provided the information verbally in an arrogant manner, making me feel very uncomfortable. This was disappointing, especially since the technician, Jasmine, was amazing and very professional. Everything was perfect until checkout.
When I politely asked for my invoice to review the charges, the front desk lady refused and answered verbally in a condescending tone. I don't think my request was unreasonable, but her attitude certainly was.
The store's response accused me of violating their new customer discount policy, which is beyond absurd. I never asked for the discount or even brought it up first. It was the front desk lady who brought it up first after I was done with my service, straight up accusing me. The front desk lady assumed I was cheating the system without even speaking to me at all. If you actually asked for every client’s ID, the confusion would not have happened at first. The front desk lady interrogated me as if I were a criminal.
Additionally, is it unreasonable to ask for clarification on the prices? The front desk lady ignored my request. I received additional treatments beyond what I signed up for, and I simply wanted to review my receipt. Is there something to hide about your pricing transparency? Other customers have raised similar concerns in their comments below. You can verify through your CCTV whether the front desk lady initially denied my request.
I appreciate you take the time to write a response essay. Your response, filled with excuses and blame-shifting, only confirms that I will not be visiting again. It was not only insincere but insulting.
(P.S. I paid what they asked for because I value the service I received and Jasmine’s professionalism, it was $150 sth for bikini and arms. Literally twice the price of what I signed...
Read moreI came in with a discount that was pre-booked and the wax tech Jasmine, who performed my wax, also decided to check me out at the register. Right in front of me, she had the nerve to remove the discounts and then also charged me extra for a service I didn’t ask for. I only wanted a Brazilian in the front- not the back. She told me it’s okay, she’ll just do it really quick and easy, no problem. She didn’t say she’d charge me extra for this service during the session and I would’ve said no simply bc I didn’t feel comfortable with doing that in the first place and did not want to pay for a service I did not ask for. I just had a horrific accident that mauled my face just 2 days prior as well and shared what happened with Jasmine and she obviously had no compassion and some serious nerve to mistreat me like that. I will never go back to the LES location ever again @ 199 Orchard St, nor any location where Jasmine might be working. In fact, this experience has made me decide never to return to any Uni K wax going forward. This was terrible service! And painful!! Save your money and go...
