As a long-time member of Equinox, I can confidently say that the Equinox Gym on Orchard Street is one of the best fitness facilities I have ever been to. I have been attending this location for a year and a half now, and the quality of service and amenities has only continued to impress me.
One of the standout features of this gym is the front desk staff. They are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. Their professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond are a testament to the high standards set by Equinox.
The group fitness instructors at this location are also exceptional. I have had the pleasure of taking classes with David Robert, Stephen Bel Davies, Bransen Gates, and Natasha Ross, and they are all top-notch. They bring energy and expertise to every class, making the workouts challenging and enjoyable.
One thing that sets this gym apart is how clean and well-maintained it is. Even during peak hours, the facilities are always spotless, thanks to the hard work of the cleaning staff. It's clear that the staff takes great pride in keeping the gym clean and hygienic.
Overall, I highly recommend Equinox Gym on Orchard Street to anyone looking for a world-class fitness facility. As a long-time Equinox member, I can attest that this gym lives up to the high standards of the Equinox brand. The friendly staff, exceptional instructors, and pristine facilities make every visit a pleasure.
HOWEVER, it would be nice to have some 17.5 weights in the group fitness room, the jump from 15 to 20 lbs can be a bit too much for some people!!!...
Read moreWas a member for 2 years, I thought it was crowded when I joined but it’s only gotten progressively worse. The facilities are nice but that’s par for the course at Equinox. This location is very small and frequently PACKED. The men’s locker room is often out of towels and if you get locked out of your locker sometimes it takes like 10 min for someone to come help. They are clearly VERY understaffed.
I used to go weekdays at 4 or 7 with no crowd issues but now it’s basically packed from 4-8 plus a surprisingly big lunch rush if you want to go earlier. Weekends used to also be very chill but not so much anymore.
The squat racks are often full, the benches are so close together you can’t put on new weights without disrupting the person doing reps next to you. If you’re weak like me, the 15-30lb free weights are sometimes hard to track down.
Also, the yoga classes pack you so close together if you’re not in a corner, you will have a stranger’s foot basically touching you, which is very gross.
I don’t know about the other gyms in the neighborhood, but I only stayed with this one because I lived on the block. If you can, I would avoid this one unless you can come exclusively at very...
Read moreI moved to the LES recently and was excited to find a gym close by to get back in shape. I spoke with an employee that works in memberships who offered me a a couple days trial to check it out. Right away I noticed how unprofessional it was that not all employees were masked. The front desk is downstairs though and I hoped that maybe they were the only people who were oblivious to the current trends in thé Covid spike. I kept my n95 on the whole time. The next time i went in, there were a couple of different employees not wearing masks, but I was already upstairs getting ready for a class. I had my mask on and had been recently boosted so I hoped I would be okay. Three days later I tested positive for covid. I had only seen three people that week all of which tested negative so I decided to call and let equinox know. When I got them on the phone i said « hello there i was at equinox on Wednesday and I wanted to inform you of my current Covid status » and the front desk person said « ok thanks » and hung up. I will...
