I am shocked to read that last review of the Center and Joann. I could not disagree with it more! My mother, Luz known as Lucy, has been attending the center for years and it is the best part of her day and best thing that has happened to her! Joann cannot be more helpful or welcoming to the seniors and community. She is always finding new ways to brighten and enrich the seniors’ lives with music, activities, classes, artwork, conversation, etc. I have known Joann to take money out of her own pocket to buy food for a senior - including my own mom - if she or he does not want what’s being offered that day at the center. She has sat with my 94 year old mom to help her participate in activities and feel part of the community… She will walk a senior home if needed, sit and cheer them on during classes or bingo, and assist them with whatever is needed. My mom is happiest when she is at the center. And when Joann is not there, it is noticeable… The center misses her spark and energy. I hope this false accusation against Joann is not given any weight. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to further discuss my personal experience with Joann...

I have been attending the Lillian Wald Older Adult Center since my retirement in March 2024, I am very pleased with the services they provide for the seniors at this center. The social activities and the fun times gives a sense of belonging and community to the participants. Special thanks to Alejandro Villarreal (Director) and Joann Napoleon (Assistant Director) for a great program and support given to those like me who have come to an end of hard work employment, but still feel the need to stay...

I have been going to the Lillian Wald Senior Center for a few years, everyday I thank God for this center. This center makes a big positive difference in our lives.
