This New Eastside Nursing Home is the best in NYC. The genuine individual care for each and every patient is phenomenal. My father is at this facility for quite a long time, and he is home...he enjoys the recreation they bring and especially the attention to detail in his care. I have visited on numerous occasions without notifying anyone I would be present and every time I arrive he is clean, happy, and most of all his room is immaculate. The staff is goes above and beyond to make sure he is well attended, whether it's his food, his surroundings or any other matter that may present itself. Remember that NY has old buildings, and they are nostalgic, yes it's not a modern building but it's clean, up to city codes and we'll maintained. Esthetics are not so important when high intensive care is given to patients. Cleanliness, friendliness and attention to medical needs are whats important in a nursing home. Thank you for all you do at New Eastside for our...
Read moreMy elderly mother had a stroke and needed a nursing home for recovery. After a lot of research, I chose New East Side Nursing, and was super happy at her care.
First off, Wayne worked with me beforehand to go over what the home had to offer and how to best get her admitted. He's a man of few words, but boy he can move mountains and get stuff done.
Second, when my mom arrived a bunch of the staff came over and over the weeks she was there I met nearly all of them. Most of the staff has been there for 10+ years, which means both them and the place is rock solid.
As for my mom, she received great care, both in recovery/therapy and daily care. She loved the food, the place was always cleaned, and they engaged with her frequently.
The only downside to this place is that it's old and looks a bit run down. But my mom has been in places where it was brand new, and the food/care is quite lacking. Don't judge a book by it's color. This...
Read moreI am very pleased with the quality of 24/7 care my 'other-mother', now at late stage Alzheimer's, is getting, at New East Side. The place is clean and well-run. The staff always greet me warmly. The nurses and aides are bustling around, busy. They answer my questions, and though I am not a family member, I am treated with kindness as well. Medications, housekeeping, patient activities, mealtime all move with precision - and genuine concern. Patients are given dignity, along with their baths and food. People are often reluctant to visit a place like this because, I suspect they are afraid in a way..it can seem like a preview of a possible 'future version' of themselves. But New East Side (formerly Home of the Sages) is doing an excellent job, caring for someone I...
