The worst mail carrier experience I’ve ever encountered or even heard of.
We have a very important package that is expected to come to us and our landlord instructed us to put his name on it to avoid the mail being sent back. We chose “adult signature required” instead of “restricted adult signature require” because it can take any resident in the apartment (doesn’t have to be the addressee).
The mail carrier came to our door at 9 am in the morning and started shouting as soon as we said the addressee was not home. We tried to explain the difference between the two signatures and he refused to listen. He said look it up on USPS and when we pulled the information up he’s like “don’t show it to me!”. When I asked that he consult his supervisor on this issue, he simply ran into the elevator without giving us a notice for redelivery. To make matters worse, when we eventually pick the mail up from the post office, we found that the mail carrier put “Do not redeliver. Left notice. Fraud” on our package. So we wouldn’t even get the package even if we schedule a redelivery with our names on it.
This behavior is beyond being unprofessional and the carrier’s attitude during the whole encounter was very aggressive and threatening. He even lied about leaving a notice and logged such lie in the system. We didn’t get the notice and had to spend hours to find where the package is and had to physically go there to pick it up. The whole process took us two days because it was a very important package for us. We wish that he be educated on this matter so that people won’t have to suffer the same fate as we did in the future.
We have filed an official complaint to the inspector general.
To the carrier - Jokes on you. We still get the package because thankfully there are more reasonable and smarter people in the office. Your words on the package was not trusted and meant nothing. It was simply a note of how...
Read moreApproximately 3 weeks ago, I called the post office to get some options for a sub-tenant who is not receiving their mail. They are not listed under our company as sub-tenants because they are renting the floor on a temporary basis. Unfortunately, their mail is being rejected and returned to sender. I wanted to find out what options did the sub-tenants have in reference to getting their mail. Perhaps, the post office could hold it and the sub-tenants can pick it up? After all, they are only a couple of blocks away. I have to admit that this is the worst post office. Every time I call no one ever picks up the phone. I've been trying for over 2 weeks to get the information and the phone constantly rings. However, 3 weeks ago I did get a live person and she was totally useful. It amazes me how no one in the entire post office could answer a simple question. On another note, I was placed on hold at least 4 times and still did not get the information. The last person I spoke with took down my contact information and claimed that someone would return the call. No one ever got back to me. Whatever happened to great customer service? Unfortunately, there is no integrity when it comes to customer service anymore. Between the automated service and the untrained staff I don't know how this company still exists. I am frustrated beyond frustrated. Maybe I should just walk over to the post office and pray that someone could help. This is totally unacceptable as well...
Read moreI sent a parcel from Toronto to NYC on 10th May 2015, that was supposed to be deliver on 15th. No delivery for 3 days, so when inquired, I was told that no one was present to pick up the parcel, so left a notice. No notice received. Now, we booked a redelivery, no luck again.
Repeated calls, no success. Person from recipient's office went to post office, 'we don't have any parcel for you!!'
Now, I went from Toronto to NYC to get my own parcel. Lady would not speak to me and advised that I have to speak to her supervisor, and gave me 2 phone numbers, no one picked up the phone!! She would not give it to me, as I am a sender (but will also not give it to recipient). They lied that the parcel is not there.
When I called their call centre again and complained about the issue, thankfully lady from the call centre called some higher authority in NYC postal services, who called supervisor at this post office. After this phone call, they called us to confirm that they do have a parcel and gave it to us.
What a bunch of lier, lazy bastards!! I am sure third world countries will provide better postal service than this.
Bottom line message: Do not use USPS, if you are sending out anything that...
