FRAUD ALERT: BE AWARE WHEN PICKING UP ONLINE ORDERS FROM THIS STORE!!!!! NEVER HAVE YOUR ONLINE ORDER PICKED UP AT THIS STORE!!!
I placed an order online yesterday 2025-02-02 and arranged the order to be picked up at this store instead of having it shipped because I can’t be home to receive it. I had some promotional and loyalty credits associated with the order. When I stopped by to JUST PICK UP THE ONLINE ORDER, the sales rep spent extraordinarily long time in the back room even though the app said the order was ready for pick up, before making me sign something and handing the order to me.
This morning I received an email from Verizon saying that all the promotional credits were removed. Another email that followed had a totally new sales receipt attached, even though I already received an email with receipt when the order went through. I called customer care to get back the credit and spent an hour but they couldn’t figure out how to give me back the credit. so I reviewed the new receipt. What I found out upon reviewing the new receipt was that there were TWO IMEI #’s on the receipt, and a trade in order that I DO NOT recognize. I returned an ipad and purchased another one WHILE I was in this store, without knowing AT ALL. The sales rep CANCELLED MY ONLINE ORDER, and placed a new order from him, resulting in all the credits being lost - IN ORDER FOR HIM TO EARN THE COMMISSION. WHAT A SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE in the back of an unsuspecting customer. A fraudulent transaction that I did NOT approve and do NOT recognize was processed by the sales rep without letting me know AT ALL.
I have let verizon customer service know what happened and I’ll be back at the store to undo the shady business that the sales rep did to me and have them compensate for my lost time.
My advice is when you place an order online, never choose store pickup option but just have it shipped to you direct because you never know how sales reps will screw you over in the backroom with fraudulent transactions, resulting in totally unnecessary headache and time-consuming inconvenience.
Update: I just checked the receipt that I left the store with yesterday carefully. The IMEI of the device I picked up and the IMEI on the receipt do NOT match just as I suspected. This makes NO SENSE AT ALL and there can’t be any excuse for this. The IMEI on the receipt matches what was on the original online order that was cancelled by the store associate, and the IMEI on the box matches the new order that the associate placed in the backroom.
Verizon customer service did put the promotional credit back on my account, but the fact that the agreement that I myself signed electronically was cancelled by the associate and the agreement that I was NOT made aware of and NEVER agreed to is active, remains - this is a fraud.
This incident needs to be investigated by the corporate headquarter and Verizon must stop being blinds to these fraudulent sales practices. Verizon must do a thorough review of the sales records of corporate owned store associates to recognize the extent of the situation where their customers have unknowingly fallen victims to this kind of fraudulent transactions by their sales associates, corporate employees. Verizon operates 1,500 corporate owned store nationwide. This kind of commission-ripping malpractice must have non-negligible impact on their corporate profitability too.
To other customers, everything that you go to a store for, can better be done online by yourself directly with Verizon. Verizon website is designed and optimized to be self serving. Various resources online are available to help. Don’t make the mistake that I made. If things like this happens at a corporate store, much worse things can happen at authorized dealers.
Corporate stores that once were trustworthy option against authorized dealers, are now obsolete, non functional, improperly managed, and are unable to provide proper services and protections against fraudulent sales tactics to...
Read moreIf you would like a terrible experience where associates belittle you , come here. I did not have such a good experience especially being that I came in already knowing what I wanted, I just wanted a good experience out of it as well. Well.. we can start off with me arriving , when I arrived all of the employees were all sitting at a table some even with their backs turn towards the door. While I was walking in , everyone surrounding the table just continued to stare at me without saying a word which made it already awkward. It wasn’t until I went all the way into the store and at the table they were all sitting at that I received a word for any of the employees, just reminding you I am the only customer in the store and it is extremely dead. Very terrible that I wasn’t greeted as soon as I came into the store especially being that the store is empty and dead at the time. I proceed to say what I came for (specifically) since I wasn’t being asked and instead received stares from every employee, and that’s when a short darker skin male with a beard and short hair pointed to the other side of the table stating that one of them would be able to help me, I looked in the direction he was pointed and again just received more stares (again, awkward), so I then walked over to the other end of the table and then a lady with fair skin and black hair a bit heavy set with a thick hispanic accent started to ask me what was it that I wanted I started to tell her exactly and specifically what it was that I came for, I then walked over to see the devices since I came for an upgrade and since I haven’t seen the devices in person I was debating between two sizes , instead of the associate asking me or recommending me a device or giving me extra information that could be helpful towards my decision, she instead insisted on going back to her seat at the table where I had to initially approach her at and waited until I made my decision, she then proceeded to come to me to ask if I was ready multiple times and in a manner that felt pressuring to make a decision in that moment. She also showed agitation because I was trying to make a decision , rather than helping me and asking me any further questions about the devices I wanted to upgrade to. It was giving me more of a “brush off” attitude, more like she wanted it to be an easy transaction/ easy sale, and I also felt extremely belittled and uncomfortable when I told her I wanted to buy the device upfront because I did not want to pay monthly and she said with an attitude “well you know you have to pay taxes and fees too ” in a manner that made it feel as if I couldn’t afford it. I already knew what I had to pay I just wanted to come into the store to have the experience and instead I got the complete opposite and it felt so uncomfortable and instead of me staying and proceeding with the transaction I left, and the taller lighter bald male who seem like a manager did nothing to stop me leaving the store or asking if they can better assist me, actually nobody did. Nobody out of the 5-7 associates working on Thursday September 28, 2023 at 6:00pm at this location offered better assistance. The customer service was terrible , lousy, extremely belittling , awkward and unsatisfying and if I can rate 0 stars I would but I cannot so it gets a 1. When I asked T-Mobile for directions to the store even they gave me better assistance having to give me directions to a rivalry I had a better...
