We went there for my friendâs wedding to buy suits. Literally the worst experience from start to finish. DO NOT GO HERE.
Start: We scheduled a time to come in and get fitted, when we got in our sales rep seemed overwhelmed that all 4 of us came at the same time, she asked us if we wanted to come back later? We got there at 1PM and didn't leave until 4PM. It took TWO HOURS to get us "all measured", which was literally putting on pants, a jacket, and a vest. I know what you're thinking, 1PM + TWO HOURS is only 3PM? You're right, the last hour was her trying to check 3 of us out. Her manager would come over and help her and check one of us out then he would just walk away and let her begin the grueling process with the next person for 20 minutes. A fun fact about the checkout, we had another groomsmen who lives in a different state go into his local Menâs warehouse, where we were assured the party's suit would be available for them to see for a nice smooth process. This was before we knew that smooth for Menâs Warehouse is strictly referring to the lack of friction while our credit cards are swiping. When he got to the store, they told him they couldn't make any sense of the order on the screen. It was a different suit, a different pant, and a different vest all on the order.
To: We went back a couple weeks later when all of our order came in, at least that's what we were told we were going back for. When we got in for our appointment , our sales associate was off that day! Better yet, there was an issue with our suits. The company as a whole, was told to push a specific grey suit on customers. So of course, the groom went with the suit they recommended which had out of stock pants across the nation. Because why would you have ample inventory for a suit you're pushing on customers nationwide? When we got in, they had the groomâs pants, in a size 44(he wears 36, these went up to his chest) and they didn't even have my pants. They also didn't have our belts we ordered, and my orange tie was just a LITTLE off, being that it was red and not the tie I ordered. When the groom asked what our options were and what could be done, we were told we could change suits completely, 5 weeks out from his wedding OR we could cross our fingers and hope those pants come in stock... Actually, there was 1 more option, we could order size 42 pants and the "master tailor" was going to make them fit like a glove to our size 36 legs, I'm sure that would have gone over just fine... No credit was offered, nothing was done to make this huge mess right, rather the manager spent most his time telling awful jokes and talking in different voices? Shrooms must be part of his morning routine.
Finish: We called back an hour later and asked for a complete refund, as we were to take our business elsewhere. He said he could process the groomâs same day, but the groomsmen would see theirs in a few days? Probably because they were "so busy" at that time with their 6 customers that they couldn't do all 4 right then and there. I'd bet my $500 suit, well half of a suit, that I don't see that refund before I make another call...
Read moreThis is our incredibly stressful experience with Menâs Wearhouse for our wedding:
My now husband and I were getting married in early May this year. While planning we knew we wanted a company that was easily accessible for our wedding party that is scattered throughout the US, and also a company that offered formal wear that would suit our vision. We agreed on Mens Wearhouse and began the planning process, knowing we were also planning around prime Prom season and were also planning from Cincinnati for our Cleveland wedding.
We went on Thursday to try on tuxes with a couple of groomsmen as well as the ring bearer. Unfortunately upon entering the store, we were welcomed by a chaotic store filled with frustrated customers, overwhelmed employees, and a sign in list for pick ups. Again, this was also prom season. So, we patiently waited for hours to ensure the tuxes were fitting appropriately and all of the correct pieces were sent. To our dismay, there were multiple problems with the tuxes.
The ring bearerâs jacket had a very noticeable and distracting stain right on the front of the jacket, and the groomâs jacket was completely incorrect and also was not discounted, as we were told it would be for bringing them so much business. The groom tried to stuff his arms into the jacket, and then he was unable to even button the jacket itself. My husband noticed that they had sent him a 36 when he was fitted for a 40 short. When brought to their attention we were initially told âthere is nothing we can do, youâre just going to have to wear the jacket unbuttonedâ. Again, this is THE GROOM! At this point I was infuriated, but desperate to find a solution for their lack of understanding. We found the same jacket on display in a 38, the next size up and asked to try it on. There were still some issues with the fit, however the groom could actually button the jacket. An employee (not sure if she is a manager) named Janice then told us we were not able to take the size 38 either but could not provide an explanation. Finally after a long, heated discussion Janice finally agreed to allow us to take the 38 rather than the 36 while awaiting for them to overnight the correct tux from Texas to Ohio. We were told it would arrive day of the wedding, no later than 8:30 AM. We did not receive a call that the tux came in until 11 AM on the wedding day, but could finally pick it up and move on to our wedding.
To all of the upcoming brides and grooms: please avoid this place. Needless to say, this was an extremely stressful and anxiety-inducing process that I hope to prevent in other customers. Please find an alternative option, this service was absolutely not worth...
Read moreHow is this place in business? Men's Wherehouse is more like it - where's the customer service? I can tell you with certainty that it isn't here! I went in today with my wife to get simple measurements along with a new suit, and perused the store for over 15 minutes. We were not greeted, but at the time it seemed the 2 or 3 store employees were busy with other customers, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I noticed another customer come into the store later on, and one of the employees greeted him and asked what he needed help with - simply because he had an existing suit in hand (maybe a return, I wasn't sure). Regardless, the both of us were ignored like we didn't exist. Not even eye contact. At this point we'd had enough and walked out, feeling disgusted.
I'm not sure if they judged me on what I wore, or more likely because we wore face masks; in either event, this was absurdly unprofessional. Any retail environment with a basic knowledge of customer service will teach their staff to engage customers that come into the store. Ask if they need help, make eye contact - at least act interested. None of that was present here. If you're a true business professional that values your time and money, don't make my mistake - steer clear of these clowns, unless you want to feel like garbage when you walk in. They're the same type of people that would mess up your fast food order and have probably spit in it beforehand.
This company is NOT the same as it once was when George Zimmer was CEO. He guaranteed you'd like the way you looked, then the board booted him from his own company that he created! That alone should tell you who you're dealing with here.
PS - To MH PR - don't bother with reaching out to me for damage control; everything you need to know to 'make things right' is right here in this review. Do better. You've already lost this...
