Spencer's — Local services in Ogden

I usually like to peek in around Spencer’s solo to see what they have since occasionally I do find jewelry or fun stuff to buy. Though today when I was browsing at another store with a friend she mentioned wanting an item that I knew the Spencers nearby often had and was excited to show her it. We ended up running into the entrance of the store a bit by accident since she really wanted to see what I was talking about, which we definitely should not have done I realized since it’s just rude and inconveniences people but I don’t think it warranted the response from the employee we got. This person told us not to run but then followed it up by saying “you two can walk right out of the store and re-try that again what’s wrong with you” in a really patronizing angry tone. My friend went over and apologized and to them and explained she didn’t mean to run, got too excited, was sorry and would act more relaxed. The person who told us that then said “Yeah no you two are grown adults and need to start acting like it,” after she apologized to them.

I know that it was probably really annoying of us and more to do when entering, I definitely would have been if I was working there, but I felt like leaving it at a “Hey stop don’t run in the store guys or I’ll have to kick you out” or something would have been better? We ended up just staying in there a minute longer so I could show her what she wanted but it felt really uncomfortable to be in there any longer after that and just left. Again we DEFINITELY were in the wrong but the way that the staff handled it felt like it just escalated it way more than necessary as someone who’s also worked in retail before with similar situations. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I’m not sure I can return without feeling awkward and remembering them...

Typically this location is great, but my most recent visit makes me genuinely never want to return. I browsed like I usually do, and saw that the workers were watching me. I work in retail so I understand looking out for theft, but this was a lot. Anyways, I found my items and went to check out. One worker was very kind and helpful, but the other one kept accusing me of grabbing a “box of fluids” and either stealing it or not putting it back. She made a huge deal about it, and wouldn’t even let me take my items until I could prove myself by letting them look through my bag that I had brought with me. I hadn’t even picked up a “box of fluids” (whatever that means) and was looking specifically at apparel and accessories. So unless you want to be accused of stealing… DO NOT GO TO...

I bought a butt plug from here, and it’s far too large. Now I have to wear depends! I never would have shopped here if I knew what kind of anal anguish I was about to experience! It’s entirely changed my life, all I wanted was to have a little fun with my boyfriend and now I have a disability that leaves me empty LITERALLY.
