This was my first and last time buying anything from Gamestop. I can count how many reviews that I have left on one maybe two hands. I ordered three games on Cyber Monday. I received a confirmation email that my order was being processed and if there were any issues a Gamestop rep would reach out. The next day, Dec 2nd I received a follow up email stating that my order had been cancelled with no explanation. At the bottom of the email there were options to call a customer service phone number or to reply to the email and a Gamestop Rep would get back to me. I chose the latter only to receive a message stating that Gamestop does not use/monitor that email and I would have to call customer service. On Dec 3rd I received a marketing email stating that the games I had ordered were back in stock. However, I would have to pay full price for all three games. At this point, it clearly feels like I was duped with a bait and switch. I then called customer service (minimum wait time 30 minutes) after 40 minutes a rep takes my call and informs me that there was a discrepancy with my billing address. I reviewed the address with him, oddly he didn't know why it cancelled because the address is just fine. I asked as to why a Gamestop rep hadn't contacted me earlier with the issue just like the Confirmation email said would happen. He couldn't answer that because he doesn't know how the email system works. I kindly asked if he would fulfill my order at the Cyber Monday price to which he replied "No, customer service can not do that". I then asked, Connect me with the person that can. To which he replied "There is nobody that can approve the Discounts." I should have gone with my instincts and just purchased from Target where I know that if this issue had come up, it would have been handled immediately. Unfortunately I didnât have the receipt with me but I figured, like most other stores, they could look it up via credit card. But no, they refused to work with me, even for a simple exchange. The tags, which had been taken off were still with the jacket but the manager said âthe tags donât matter. Only the receipt.â Well, a week later, I found my receipt and decided to go and try to take it back again. By this point, I didnât have the tags anymore because of what I was told by the store manager. But when I went to go and take it back a second time, they told me the tags needed to be attached to the jacket. Why wasnât I told that in the first place by the first manager I talked to? I wouldâve kept them. Also, how do they make their tags in the first place? When I worked retail, we had our own separate tags and attached them ourselves with the tag gun. So does GameStop not do the same thing? It has been such a headache when all I wanted the next size. They still would have had the money either way so Iâm not understanding the problem. The employees even told me how ridiculous they think their new return policies are now and that they agreed with me that I should be frustrated.
