Best coffee shop around. Hands down. I've tried a lot of coffee shops in the area, and nothing beats JJs for espresso or matcha. Plus, they have the BEST baristas. It's the only place I will order an espresso or cortado. They brew it perfectly every time. A quality bean with just the right amount of bitterness and pulled perfectly. Perfect temp every time. Not overly bitter like I often get at other places. Same with the matcha - excellent ceremonial grade matcha brewed at the right temperature, so it's not overly bitter. Even though their plain drinks are delicious, they do have excellent house made syrups that make your drink a real treat. As mentioned, they have the BEST baristas ever. They are always super nice, spend time answering my questions without getting annoyed, go out of their way to make sure my order is just right, know my name and my preferences, and create a positive atmosphere. They brighten my day every time, and are just genuine, kind humans. When I first got into the coffee scene a couple years ago and explored the area for the best coffee, JJs was the first coffee shop I went to that felt welcoming and unpretentious. I always came back to it for the excellent coffee, matcha, and good vibes. Now I won't go anywhere else. JJs is my happy place, hopefully it can be yours too. Thank you to the owner, Trevor, and his entire team for making JJs great in...
Read moreWe've been waiting for an artisan/3rd-4th wave coffee shop in Utah county since we moved here 15 years ago when the only coffee was a Starbucks that went out of business in south county Payson. The lack of demand, and subsequent lack of competition for passionate hand crafted coffee has set the bar where it is. And no shade at any of the other shops in town. They've paved the way to what it is and done their best in a community that historically doesn’t drink a lot of coffee. But the competition just elevated significantly with JJ. No longer is the drive to La Barba & Publik Coffee in SLC or Pink Elephant in Park City necessary. JJ just brought what coffee purists in Utah county have been craving. This is not your average 7 pumps of sugar syrup and 90% burned milk to mask bad coffee that's been the accepted fare in town. These owners pay attention to every detail of the quality they deliver from the source of their beans to the recipes and store made flavors. It's diverse, it's an experience beyond the beverage, and it's obvious that it's backed by passion and a legacy to their cherished parents from whom the name derives. These are the kind of keep-it-local businesses we should funnel our support towards....
Read moreI've made efforts to visit every coffee place claiming proper coffee. I don't want giant dessert drinks with lots of sugar, pumped flavors, and milk. This is the only one I've found, and it lives up to billing. Don't get me wrong, they can do the pumped, sweet ones too. Don't stay away if that's what you like. It turns out that we ended up being their first customer. I was looking to see if any new coffee places had shown up to try. JJ was there. Who knew it was opening day. Since then we've been back a number of times. Everyone is friendly. The owners are very nice people. They are really working to create a great space and excellent coffee. I split between getting a pour over, or their latte. The pastries are excellent. I recently got back from Paris, theirs match all but the best in Paris, but even then, they are close. They are super dog friendly. They also make excellent topped toasts. There is avocado toast that is excellent as well as other toppings that are very good. Currently, I don't know of anyplace that...
