I've given this establishment so many chances. I don't plan on ever returning and giving them my business. To start with, the staff turnover is insane. As soon as you find someone you like that you are happy with their services...the likelihood that they are still there the next time you go is very low. Therefore, you end up with someone else and subpar results. I recently set up appointments for a family member visiting from another state and myself for her birthday just praying that I'd be happy this time. She was so rough with my hair and head that I had to ask her if she needed me to comb out my wet hair for her to then blow dry. She was untangling it wrong and just forcing the brush through my delicate dyed blonde hair. I could hear the tearing and crunching as she was detangling from root to end. Then as she blow dried my hair she was scraping the ends with the round brush to try to untangle them further damaging my ends after I'd just paid for deep conditioning. I was in my seat cringing. As soon as she was done I was almost on the verge of tears. My hair was more damaged than when I'd come in. I'm not confrontational and I didn't want to make a scene because the establishment is small so I simply left disappointed and angry questioning why I gave them another chance to begin with. After less than 3 hours later, the work done with the blow dryer, curling iron and curlers was gone. Everything I'd paid for gone and left with worse ends that looked burnt off. I was actually embarrassed. I felt like I needed to go get 2 inches cut off of my ends after my visit. I eventually called at the urging of my cousin and spoke to the owner Katie to see if I could get a refund or discounted because of how unsatisfied I was. Her policy is NO REFUNDS and for you to come in and get another deep conditioning and "soft blow dry." The LAST thing I want is to have to go and waste my time again, feel awkward if the employee was there because they know I complained, put any sort of heat to my hair again, and quite frankly...I am scared to let them even TOUCH my hair again. Also, what if I had gone to get my hair done for an event, like a prom, or wedding or work function, or something important or time sensitive that I couldn't come back in for them to correct their error? Katie said they were closed the next day due to the Orlando Olympic Tryout races going on downtown so I would have had to have waited an entire other day and whenever I could fit it into my schedule. That is absolutely LUDICROUS to inconvenience the customer when such a terrible job was done! I sent her pictures and all and she interrupted me when I mentioned refund and rudely stated "NO. I DON"T DO REFUNDS, as I stated you can come in for a deep conditioning and soft blow dry." While I understand that some people may try to say they are disappointed with their hair to abuse the refund policy...I believe the owner should use more discretion and be more polite when it comes to each case. My case was CLEARLY a case of wasting my time and money at...
Read moreAwful experience and I won't ever go back again! I've taken appointment as I live abroad and was in Orlando for a particular event. I needed to put an extension on a braid so that it would look longer than only with my real hair. Super simple to do, usually for this I don't even take an appointment with my hairstylist as she is done in 15 minutes maximum. So I brought my extension and the lady in charge started endless attempts to put in the extension and do the braid, each time with a catastrophic result. I mean she couldn't even do a normal structured braid. This lasted 1 hour and in stead of trying to find a solution or asking someone else to take in charge (maybe someone who is able to do a braid?), she didn't stop laughing all the time, showing to others what was her plan for the next attempt while my event was in 2 hours!! At the end (more than an hour later) she completely ruined the extension that I've brought and said that in fact the problem was that my extension was of very bad quality (it's been years that I take always the same extension because I know that it fits perfectly) and that's why it would be impossible to do what I want so what's the plan B? I was fed up, just got up and wanted to leave while they said that I owe them 90 dollars for the hairstyle. !!!??? For real?! What hairstyle?! They even damaged my extension that I paid for and at 2 hours of my event I had no solution for my hair! In stead of apologizing for ruining what I've brought and my whole program, they wanted me to pay for a service that I've never received! Of course I refused and so they told me that I was welcome to leave. I have never been confronted with such a lack of professionalism and such arrogance. I will never set foot there again and I will make sure that none of my acquaintances do it either.
EDIT after owner's reply: As I mentioned I've used this extension at least 10 times, every time with great results. And not only I didn't get any excuse for ruining my extension and wasting my time, but I was also asked to pay for a service I've never received. But obviously it's hard for you to understand what is client relations and...
Read moreWARNING! If you care about the health of your natural hair, stay as far away from this "business" as possible. I went to BLO BLOW DRY BAR on October 22, 2023 to have my hair blown out for graduation pictures. BLO BLOW DRY BAR permanently DAMAGED my hair and BURNED my ear during my visit!! I am still dealing with the nightmare results of my visit (and will for the unforeseeable future). I wanted my hair blown out for a few hours for graduation photos, and intended for my hair to return to its natural state once I washed it. My hair never went back to normal and is permanently damaged. I feel as though some kind of chemical straightener was used on me without my permission, and it has damaged my natural curls beyond repair. I called the salon on October 29, 2023 and spoke to Yari about what happened to my hair. Yari advised me the managers name was Gabby Schooley. I asked to speak with the manager and requested a full refund. I was told the manager (Gabby Schooley) was not available but would call me back. That was TWO WEEKS AGO and I have yet to receive a call back or a refund. My hair still smells horribly of some foreign chemical or whatever substance they used on me. It will take years to return to normal, and somehow, this wasn't enough to warrant a call back from the manager. The lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for their customers hair is disgusting. I had thick, healthy, virgin hair, with beautiful natural curls and it has been reduced to a frizzy, straightened, knotted mess that smells like chemicals. My hair will require years of treatments, cuts, and regrowth to get back to normal. This business does not care about your hair and does not care about their clients. If you value your hair health at all, please please please stay away from this...
