I love the family that runs this eatery. Their story, covered by the Orlando Sentinel, is posted on the wall along with a family photo. The Daddy smiled as he welcomed me and pointed out there are photos of the menu items on the wall. Their son manned the register and was super nice too, big smiles and chatting with my husband and asking his favorite Kdramas. He could tell my hubby wanted to talk. I think that’s why my husband ordered extra mandu, because the son was so nice to him!
Mommy is pretty and she’s bought a lot of plants for the front windows. She has a sense of humor too, seen in the tongue-in-cheek signs (“Yes, I do need all these plants,” and the cat signs in the bathroom).
Now for the food. It’s amazing!!! I had the bibimbap which came with the separate toppings that you mix yourself. The last time I had bibimbap this good was in SoCal. Here the bibimbap was a bit better because of the rice mixture base. I ordered their house-made kimchi on the side. It didn’t have sugar in it and it was well-seasoned.
My husband said the mandu was “outstanding!” It was crispy on the outside and the filling tasted like ground pork, a bit of ginger, finely grated carrot, garlic and maybe sesame oil. It came with a sweet garlicky soy-based sauce. They had canned boba drinks in the fridge displayed near the register. My husband got the passion fruit apple drink with popping boba and he liked it.
All in all highly recommended!
A regular from the neighborhood came in just ahead of us and ordered for dine in. The son said to him, “You’re hungry tonight!” and the customer agreed; I guess they ordered more than they usually do. The customer ate the meal at the next table and we all enjoyed the colorful lights, plants and homey atmosphere of the...
Read moreThis the second korean restaurant I have visited since I moved to the USA..and I realized that both restaurant food/ dishes taste really good and what makes a difference is the service offered by the employees working at the moment you order or the one who is serving you at the table. And in this place the young man at the register looked so annoyed by my questions that he started pointing to the fridge beside him when I was asking what kind of drinks they have and when I asked for the type of dishes I was thinking of he also turned around the menu and pointed to the picture in the back. I guess it was easy for him to point out instead of talking to the person in front of him. Then at one moment he looked at the lady with a beautiful smile who was in the other corner with a face of disbelief. Then when he came to serve me he td me that I can take any drink from the fridge. I asked for water, surely enough he pointed to the fridge for me to go and get it. While eating there was a man working too who came around and smile to me. It's a petty that this young man did not have the same warming gesture and manners than his olders. Getting out of the restaurant the young man said to me 'thank you and have a good night'...I just raised my hand with a peace ✌️ symbol without turning around and left. I guess that is what he likes more when...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend went in and wasn’t even greeted. No biggie we go to order on the kiosk and i won’t lie we were taking like 5 mins to decide so a long time. The cashier in front visible looks annoyed but it’s not like he said anything. So we tell him we’re going to sit down and look at the menu so we can decide and they do that. I man walks in and he’s instantly talkative to him i don’t want to bring race into it but me and my boyfriend are a different race from the man that walked in. The man is taking a while to order on the front kiosk so we wait until he’s done since we know what we want. The cashier comes shaking his head and eyes up and down asking us if we’re going to ordering anything? First time whatever brushed it off, then not even 3 minutes later another man asks us if we’re just gonna sit here or order anything. We explain that we’re waiting for the man at the kiosk to finish and he says we can order at the register, which we would’ve been made aware of if the guy actually talked to us. Go so turned off by the whole experience this is the first time i ever left a restaurant i wanted to try so bad:( the food is probably good but costumer service...
