The place looked great and it was the first spot that came up when I typed in 'kid friendly barbers'. My son is 3, but has gotten a fade at a Barbershop for over 2 years with no problem. We just moved here and I decided to try this place out. Our barber did nothing to make my son feel comfortable or welcome at all from the moment the cut started. When he was visibly upset, scared and crying, he didn't even stop and ask him if he was okay (a barber not cutting his hair did offer some nice words to my son though.) His hair turned out great and the price was reasonable, but the customer service was awful. Like I said, he's been before at a regular shop and the mannerisms of our old barber made all the difference. He didn't need to be babied, but friendliness and a little concern for him when he began crying would have gone a long way. If you don't cater to a certain age group, that should be added to the site.
*Just saw your reply. I will not be coming back, but thanks for the offer. If you charge extra for kids who show normal emotion/reactions to new places, you do not cater to kids. Three year olds cry sometimes. I will not be shamed like he was some brat that was just screaming or throwing a tantrum. He was not. He cried if his hair got snagged here and there. A normal reaction for a 3 year old. Like I said, he didn't need to be babied, but some compassion would have gone a long way. I will continue to seek out a business that understands that sometimes 3 year-olds get anxious and might appreciate a smile or encouragement, not a threat to increase the price dramatically for parents for their child acting like a...
Read moreOverall a nice establishment to get a haircut. However, I felt as if $35.00 before tips was a high price for the average haircut that I received, but I understand the geographic location most likely demands a higher rent, so there's no real grief there. The things that I disliked were that my barber's cordless clippers used for my edge up was soft, and low powered. I have "coarse hair" and felt the clippers didn't do much of a neat line. The blade strokes were gentle to the point where I assumed they were meant to be used on a toddler's edge up. Secondly, when finishing my edge up with the razor, no type of gel, oil, shaving cream, etc., was applied before or after the process. Every last Barber that I have been to have always applied some type of protective lubricant in correlation with using a razor blade. This irritated my face and neck for about a day and a half. Lastly, my chair time took close to 45-50 minutes. I appreciate the effort put into it, it's just never taken that long and the final look only comes out ok. On a number system, I give it a 7.4 out of 10. The shop is nice and clean with open space and good music. The Barbers are respectful. The rating I gave has nothing to do with the physical shop, nor any of the other barbers. This is strictly based off of my haircut...
Read moreAs a single mom, I took my son to get his first hair ever (extremely nervous as I know nothing about these things) and Nick was extremely patient and did a fantastic job on giving my son a look that he wanted and felt more confident in. He even collected my son's dreads and let me keep them. I took my son back for the second time and yet again, Nick did another amazing job. The staff was also very friendly when we walked in and while waiting I observed the other barbers/stylist work on other clients and I must commend this shop for all their amazing work and I can say that I appreciate the pride they take in their clients final looks and satisfaction. As a native Miamian I dont let anyone nor trust people in my children's hair but I felt 100%comfortable and confident that my child wouldn't be disappointed after our first visit and nor was I. will continue to take my son as often as needed to this shop and definitely reccomend them to any and 3veryone in need of professional, artistic and top notch service. Keep up the good work guys and the owner good work on having an...
