I visited the store on a weekday early afternoon. I wanted to avoid the large crowds so arriving early worked well. I walked into the store and there were two very nice women working and one other customer. I briefly browsed the store and found a few pair of jeans to try on.
The fitting room was nicely maintained and the lighting was pretty good. The staff was super helpful and attentive. The two pairs of jeans I really liked were both on the clearance racks and i needed to try on another size. As I searched the racks I found a few others to try on. One sales associate went out of her way to check the back for the size. I was wondering why items on final clerance would be in the back ? I have noticed with the stores in the the olet shopping center if they do not say OUTLET they are just a regular store.
So I find a pair of jeans I love (SLIM CROP JEANS) and buy them. I am feeling really good because these jeans are a size 6 and I usually wear 8-10. I get the jeans home and try them on for my Hunnie and notice a very terrible odor coming from the jeans. I was grossed out thinking I had been strutting around in someone else's funk. I immediately washed the jeans and after i dried them I pulled them out to smell the freshness and was horrified when they still smelt exactly the same. I have come to learn this smell is formaldehyde. The jeans and lots of other wrinkle free items are treated with this textile chemical to help the fabric last. I was very shocked and upset that this information is nowhere on the clothing label. I live in Florida and I sweat in my jeans from time to time. Wearing jeans with this chemical so close to my skin I am sure I am absorbing those chemicals into my pores like lotion. YEEUCK
By this time I had removed the tags and no idea where i threw out the receipt. I decide I would leave a review on the WHBM site. I created an account and submitted my review. A week later i got an email stating that my review was rejected.
I really want to get this information out to people like myself who may not know they are rocking formaldehyde clothing. I will never shop WHBM again, not due to my experience at this store but due to the company policies.. I will be avoiding all wrinkle free clothing and The American Apparel and Footwear Association needs to put this chemical on the banned list,...
Read moreIve bought clothing at both the mall and the outlet. The store at the Florida mall might be more luxurious as far as the clothing quality and quantity but the experience at this outlet store is certainly more luxurious because of the service! The employees go above and beyond. I had the pleasure of being in the store with Christine and Connie and they were nothing short of amazing and wonderful. Made me feel like i had personal shoppers. Will definitely come back not just for the prices but for the customer services! And im telling all my friends! Thank you...
Read moreHave stopped at this store everytime we are in orlando (we live in wisconsin) and have always had great experiences, however this time they went above and beyond. I bought a shirt there a few weeks ago that i LOVE and for the life of me can not find where it went. I scoured the websites and called my local store and nobody could help. I called this location and i believe her name was stacy, found the shirt i needed from the clearance rack in my size and texted me a picture to be sure it was the right one and is mailing it for me. So happy and appreciative!...
