I went in to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I had been looking online for months and saw a few I would want to check out in the store. I googled the nearest location near me and it brought me to the location inside the prime outlets on International Drive. As soon as I walked in with one of my homegirls, I immediately greeted everyone in the store; I was so bubbly and excited. The greeting was definitely not reciprocated. We received the dullest hi on return.
As we're walking around I notice it's an outlet location. I knew things would be different, but hopefully not too much so. The associate that helped me was horrible. She kept speaking to me in Spanish. I told her I spoke English. She said ok but repeatedly spoke to me in Spanish or Spanglish.
Now, I initially asked where the engagement rings were. The lady pointed from across the room. None of them were what I was looking for. I mentioned I needed a band type of engagement ring, more on the masculine side. The look she gave me. So I said yep, for my girlfriend. She just looked at me crazy. And then she POINTED. AGAIN. SMH. So, we walked over to the bands. I also SPECIFICALLY asked for a pink sapphire ring because that's my girl's birthstone. This lady literally showed me anything and everything that wasn't pink. She was like oh this is an emerald and I'd reply, "Nope! Has to be pink." She'd say oh, well this is a nice ruby ring. I'd reply again, "Nope! Has to be pink." She continued to show me 8 other colored rings. I was sooooooo annoyed.
I eventually found a ring but the experience at that store was horrible. I felt discriminated against a bit and I didn't like that at all. I should have left and went elsewhere but I was on a mission. That day was the only day I could get the ring.
I've never proposed to anyone before so I wanted it to be an enjoyable experience. I have made up in my mind that when I go to buy her wedding band that I definitely won't return to...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePOOR & LAZY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Google shows 7pm as early closure for Covid19 hours, HOWEVER as I drove quickly to get here (right after work) and the doors were locked!!! I knocked and a woman nodded her head no with a hand gesture across her neck as to say they're cut off??? It was 6:50pm, a WHOLE TEN MINUTES left for customers to stop by to get service!!! All I had to do was a quick drop off of a resize of a anniversary band ring I just purchased online, and quickly add insurance to my new ring! I also wanted to make an appointment to look at upgrades for my wedding ring too, for when I pick up my resized anniversary band ring. This store just lost my sale for the upgrade and insurance! I will go to another Zales store. I also work on retail, as a manager, and totally understand customers who rush in last minute due to their work schedule, so I would NEVER ALLOW my sales team to close doors 10 minutes early!!! Especially right now during this time when store hours are shortened, and I would figure that every store would stay open until the exact hour of closing to maximize every opportunity for a sale!!! Obviously this store doesn't understand this sales method to provide every customer a chance to buy up until the end of the hour when it's actually time to close the doors. It's a big pet peeve of mine when I see stores close early, which perception shows that these sales people at this store are lazy and does not value their customers to stay open until their actual close time. Never again here, and will go to a Zales store that stays open until exactly 7pm. Quit being lazy, and do your job that you're paid, expected, and scheduled to...
