My wife and I was in Orlando on business, as we were traveling the streets to look for something to eat. I noticed Pho16. We stopped in and ordered wonton soup, chicken wings and a summer shrimp roll. I’ll tell you, that was the best wonton soup I’ve ever had in my life. They don’t do Pho up north where I live like this. The soup was so fresh and flavorful, and full of fresh herbs with basil and bean sprouts on the side. The bowl was huge and full with a great amount of wonton and pork, I couldn’t believe it, it was well worth the $13.95 we paid for it. The chicken wings were juicy, and tasted so amazing, as I dipped mine in two sauces that accompanied them. The summer shrimp rolls which came with a peanut dipping sauce and had fresh large shrimp inside were also amazing. The owners were so nice to us they made us feel like family, it made our dining experience that much better. The owner asked why did I order the wonton soup, because they are know for their Pho soups and the pho was their specialty, I didn’t have an answer. I asked her for a little dipping sauce cup of the pho broth just to taste it, this amazing woman brought me out a smaller bowl of their brisket pho with all of the helpings that went with it, and she was right, that beef brisket pho just put my experience and my taste buds into another dining atmosphere. Andy who is the owner with his wife who treats everyone who walks through her door with the kindest smiles and hello’s and she makes everyone feel welcome into their establishment. Andy then brought me and my wife out two pieces of beef that they serve in a marinade sauce that was so tender and tasty I was floored. He also explained to me how he made his Pho and the process and time that it takes to make this amazing bowl of the clean and clear broth to make his amazing soup. He has been perfecting his Pho for years and years. Please, if you love Pho and you are in the Orlando area, visit this establishment, you will thank me. Great job to Andy and your wife, who’s name I forgot. I will see you when I...
Read moreWe saw this place while driving and was craving pho, so we gave it a try. We ordered beef pho (can’t remember which number it was), but the broth was only mediocre. It was a bit cloudy and brownish gray-colored. The dish came with a side of chili oil, bean sprouts, and herbs. On the table, there was sambal chili paste, hoisin, and sriracha sauce.
We also ordered shrimp spring rolls, grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich, chicken wings, and Vietnamese coffee. The spring rolls were ok. I didn’t eat the grilled pork sandwich because the meat looked rough and was orange colored, and it had a burnt nonstick saucepan smell. The chicken wings were good. They were crispy and came with a sweet and slightly spicy dipping sauce.
I told my husband not to order the Vietnamese coffee because I was afraid it would disappoint like most of the food so far, but he took a chance and the coffee came out terrible. Before ordering, he asked how they make their coffee. The woman behind the counter said they make their coffee in the mornings and that it just needs to be mixed. She didn’t answer his question and he wasn’t sure exactly what “making coffee in the morning” entailed, but ordered it anyway. The coffee just tasted like black coffee with a lot of cream and sugar. We looked behind the counter and saw all their Coffeemate containers, so it’s likely they add powdered creamer to their coffee. Real Vietnamese coffee is made with condensed milk.
This place takes too many shortcuts and the food doesn’t taste good or authentic. The service is fast, though, so if you need something quick, come here, but don’t expect anything amazing. I’m surprised by all the high ratings. People must not...
Read moreMy friend and I thought we try this place since the other place we wanted to go to was closed. It seems to have decent reviews with 4.7, oh how wrong we were! First, we had to pay for our meal and tip (18-20%) before having a seat. The tables were wiped down but was not cleaned, had dirty streaks that was visible, as if they used a dirty rag soaked from the day before. My friend ordered beef Phở with meatballs and a Coke, I ordered lemon grass chicken and a Vietnamese coffee. Phở barely had any aroma to it, so that was a bad sign. The herb/veggies that accompanied was very skimpy. After he tasted it, it confirmed that it was indeed very bland. He ate half and discarded the rest. My lemon grass chicken was tasty but was on the salty side, came with a very small side of steamed broccoli and Chinese bok choy, and very dry steamed white rice. The coffee didn't taste authentic but was strong and wasn't full of ice like other places. The hostess/cashier/waitress never came back to check on us during our 45 minutes lunch. We left very disappointed and went to a food court at the outlet mall nearby to satisfy our...
