I purchased a table from Kelly's Dinettes. When I picked the table up from the store (which was wrapped in a cardboard cover) and brought it home, I discovered that there was a scratch on the table. I have attempted to get in contact with the store multiple times now. John (the owner) claims that he will have a driver come out to the house to fix the damage as a "favor" - that it is not his policy to go out to customer's houses to fix items that were damaged upon purchase if it was not delivered by them... a policy that he conveniently forgot to mention when we purchased the table. John has also failed to actually send drivers to our house to fix the table. It has been 2 weeks. He has called us back exactly once and said that they'll get to our house when they get there. Worst customer service ever. Buyer beware - if you have any issues with your purchase, this store will absolutely not support you.
Update: * Kelly's Dinettes finally did call to make an appointment to fix the table... after the conversation described above happened and after I posted this review. I am not sure if correlation implies causation here, but at least they did the right thing eventually.
Final Update: * I had also filed a complaint against Kelly's Dinettes with the BBB. Their response was to accuse me of being arrogant for demanding that they fix the damage to the table. The fact is, regardless of whether or not I paid a delivery charge, the item that we purchased was damaged upon receipt. It is absolutely the business's responsibility to deliver a product that is as advertised; i.e. damage-free. It is not arrogant that I demand the damage to be fixed by the business; it is an assertion of my rights as a consumer. It would be in the business's best interest...
This place is the best! My wife and I were shopping for a set of 8 high quality stools and John and Draz were sooo helpful. They let us take one home without even putting any money down - just to check how well they match to our home decor. Then when we were ready to make our purchase, they beat all of the other stores and even matched the best online deal! Overall however, it was much better than buying from some unknown place online because of several reasons: first - they are local and easy to get to, should there be any problems with the stools, as opposed to attempting to shipping these 50 lb stools back and hoping for the best...second, John and Draz guaranteed that all 8 stools would come from the same lot, which was very important to us since we wanted the dark cherry wood on all 8 to match....third, when they delivered them, they carried them in through the house and positioned them right where they go in our kitchen....and finally, at absolutely no extra cost, when they delivered the stools, they put the felt protectors all of the stool legs for us. Overall, we were treated extremely well and i would gladly buy from this...
Read moreBought four chairs and a table four years ago, and we've been very happy with them. However, about a month ago, our son-in-law leaned back on one of the chairs, and the back separated from the seat. Very scary. We called John at Kelly's who asked for a picture of the damage, which we sent. Having seen the picture, he told us he thought it could be repaired, and I brought it to him this morning. Checking the chair, John said he could repair it. More than that, he explained in great detail and illustrations why it happened, what he would do to fix it no charge, and what I should do to check the other three chairs to make sure it didn't happen to them. I left the chair with John, and he estimated that he would have it for me in a few days. This afternoon, he called to say I could pick it up. I could not ask for better service. It's clear that John stands behind his products and is committed to...
