Helzberg Diamonds — Local services in Plainfield

I went long while now ago to have a solid 10k chain fixed that was broken in the linkage (Figaro). It cost me $35 to have one link soldered to make the chain whole again. Normally, fine. When I dropped the chain off, the lady ask me the value of mine, and I had no clue as it had been a gift and I’m not an expert by any means. I had to guess, because the person insisted, so I guessed $3-500 and there was a very prominent look that crossed her face, as she held and was looking at the chain, and having heard my estimate. I can describe it only as recognition/astonishment that I didn’t know the value of my own jewelry. And a mocking that I didn’t. “Okayyyy…” was the response - half choked half stifled giggle it came out accompanied by non exaggerated eye roll. I caught all of these mannerisms, and the tone and way I was received to my response/naivety. I’m well aware I live in a world that isn’t always rife with the best people so I let it slide. I would give this place zero stars if I could but not based on this alone. It is based on the fact that while it did take me too long to figure all of this out, I did. Finally. I knew when I went to pick up my once solid feeling, heavy and expensive chain, that it felt different. It was clean, yes, but no amount of grime will make a difference to owner or actuality of heft differing. It wasn’t until the chain easily broke again that I realized this store’s ruse. And then with fact based evidence, I learned it was true. I took it another place to see about fixing it and they informed me the chain wasn’t real!!! It had overlay on it but I watched in horror as it gleaned to a magnet and stuck when one was held close!! They didn’t return to me MY CHAIN, it was another flimsy and fake chain returned to me and my own naivety used to someone’s advantage. Now I know that my chain didn’t cling to a magnet BEFORE I DROPPED IT OFF- and I will be making a BBB report and a report with authorities at once. A significant amount of time passed before the facts came together but I’m warning you- with the way I’ve read the other reviews state they treat people and the way I was treated in addition to being racially exclusive or even superficially judge mental to people walking in the door I urge you to take heed DO NOT SHOP HERE. DO NOT DROP OFF ANYTHING OF VALUE IF ITS DEAR TO YOU or if you’re not sure of its value. The chain i got back from drop off wasn’t returned to me- and it COST ME MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET for someone to STEAL IT, at that!! I have never been so infuriated in my LIFE. DO NOT TRUST THIS BRANCH of Helzberg. Its values are compromised and it WILL be YOU paying the cost in more ways than one! My chain was heavy, solid and most importantly, solid 10k! This farce facsimile is but a shadow of mine and the vultures (keep reading- it’s true) lie in wait for the perfect clueless marks to just walk through the door. BUYER BEWARE. I cannot say it...

Helzberg is honestly the worst company and I’m so upset my Fiancé didn’t look at reviews before purchasing my ring here. I’ve had nothing but problems from Helzberg Diamonds. When I first got engaged my ring was a size 7 (it’s okay my Fiancé completely surprised me and didn’t know my ring size). I took my ring in to the Greenwood location to get it sized and the lady told me I should only go down half a size. Even though the 6 fit me perfectly (she had me try different rings on). So I took her advice and only went down half a size. She told me I would get my ring within 5-7 business days. It took 1 month! Which kind of upset me because I was newly engaged and I wanted to wear my ring. Also I had to call them literally every day to see if it was done. They told me to just try the next day, and they kept saying that. That was also annoying. Then finally after 32 days I called again and a gentleman said “oh your ring has been done for a week now”. Even though I called the day prior and they told me no it wasn’t done yet. So I’m not sure what to believe with that. THEN when I got it back it was still too big. So I asked them to take it down half a size (to a size 6) which we knew from the beginning was my size. Well that took another 2 weeks. Then I got my ring back and it was super smokey looking. And it kind of looked dirty. I was upset and over it so I took it to a different Helzberg. The Helzberg in Plainfield (this location) told me my diamonds were broke! 3 of them actually! And 1 diamond was loose. So the Greenwood Helzberg did that! Because I took it to the Plainfield location literally the next day I got it back. I had it fixed which took another week, and then two weeks later my diamonds looked smokey again. So I’m assuming this Helzberg in Plainfield didn’t fix them. Or they broke again. Which means my diamonds are cheap and easily broken.... even though my fiancé spent $3,000 on my ring. And I also need to add I barely wear my ring!! So there’s really no explanation and I can’t be blamed. It has to be Helzberg’s quality. I’m in the Army and also in nursing school, so I have to wear silicone rings if I do wear jewelry. I had asked Google on my phone where a good place was in my area that works on watches so I could get my watch worked on, it recommended Helzberg Diamonds so that's where I went in Plainfield, indiana. They have a very friendly and professional kind/staff that made me feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door. When I told them what I was there for they had no problem changing out my new band that I had brought with me for my watch at no charge, even though I was a 1st time customer. So while my husband and I was waiting, I looked at some of the beautiful wedding sets they had and a very nice lady started talking to me about maybe purchasing one? I told her my husband and I have been married for 35 years and I thought about possibly buying a new set someday, but that wasn't what I was looking to do right then. However, the more I looked and seen the good deals they had it could just possibly happen real soon..lol? So then I started talking to a new lady named Tammy who had been working for the Company 25yrs who could show me deals on what I thought we could possibly afford?! I told Tammy maybe I would be back tomorrow after talking it's over with my husband because we don't do anything without talking it over 1st and agreeing, especially before making any purchases?? And since that wasn't what we went there for (Helzberg's) in the first place, this would be a big decision to discuss!! After talking and many years for both of US/ he told me to get what we agreed price$wise could afford and what my heart=loved 😍 to carry me through till death do us part or possibly until Christ return.. Amen and Amen!! So, the next day the same beautiful lady Tammy was there to help me again after spending much time the day before and telling her a maybe, she was able to help me get what I wanted with a discount!!
