I'd like to preface this review by stating that I work in hospitality and always give grace to establishments as I know how things go when it's a busy night. I don't mind waiting for good service and good food. Unfortunately, this restaurant is one I'll never go back to nor will I recommend to other people.
My partner and I booked a reservation for Valentine's Day. The reservation required a $100.00 deposit, but included a bottle of wine, fondue, live music, and "specials".
Our reservation was for 6:30 pm, but we didn't get seated until 6:40 pm. Not a big deal as it's a busy night, and again we're understanding of the industry. It then took 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge that we were there...
The waitress finally showed up at 7 pm and didn't apologize for the delay or give an explanation at all. We asked her how she was doing and if things were very busy (snooping for an explanation) and her response was "No it's not busy at all actually. It's been very chill". So it's not busy but it took 20 minutes for water? We then ordered the bottle of wine that was included with the dinner, and inquired about the fondue portion that was also included. It turns out the fondue was a community chocolate fondue with some fruit and marshmallows that was self serve... This would have been nice to know while we waited for 20 minutes to get our water.
We decided we would order the meat and cheese charcuterie as we were quite put off by everything and figured it was a safe bet. I wish I would have taken a picture as the food that was finally served to us 40 minutes later was pathetic. It was $38.00 for items that looked like they came straight out of Wal-Mart packaging and absolutely should not have taken 40 minutes to put together.
So it's now 7:40 pm and we're just now starting in on our food and then the community chocolate fondue. At about 8:10 we requested the check so that once we finished our food and wine we could leave. At 8:23 pm (I was so shocked that I immediately checked my phone) a person that we had never communicated with came up to our table, clapped his hands, and said "alright guys we've got a reservation at 8:30 pm for this table". Then looked at us as if we were the worst part of his day and had wasted their time.
I didn't even finish my wine. We grabbed our things and left.
For an evening that was supposed to be "romantic" and was not cheap, this was horrendous. The service was pathetic. The food was worse. And I hate that I'm even leaving this review, but my goodness who is running this restaurant? If I were the Director of F&B I would be...
Read moreI’m one of those kind of people that have to find out for themselves rather than only listening to what is being said, so, for my birthday, despite hearing a couple different groups complain about their experiences at Xport Rooftop Lounge at Porter's, I chose to go there anyways. We barely made it off the elevator before they immediately discriminated us. They immediately asked one of the girls out of my group how many drinks has she had when we haven’t even had a drink yet. Told us we all need to have ID out and ready which no one had an issue with and the person continuously kept antagonizing the same friend (who’s black). My other two friends (who arent black) noticed what was going off and started to tell this staff about themselves. Mind you while this argument kept going, THREE other groups of people (you know the color) were being seated WITHOUT BEING STOPPED FOR ID.. they were taken right away to a table. We started asking for the manager and after being rejected the first 2 times the manager came and instead of listening to us she had already made her mind up and told us to leave. Then the person we argued with started yelling out that WE were discriminating and misgendering her when no one was! (My friend has a video) they only said that because they were being told that they were a racist. They then began to put gloves on like they were going to do something to one of my friends. I wont lie I was so embarrassed!
Luckily I already had a back up in case Xport pulled something like this and we ended up going to The Departure Lounge And Restaurant and had a WAY better experience! They were so kind, with bubbly professional personalities and the food and drinks were so good! The view inside and outside was beautiful! And I’m so grateful I ended up being...
Read moreI recently had a bad experience at Export Lounge & Grill myself — the staff, especially the manager Sally, were incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. The waitress barely acknowledged us, and Sally repeatedly rolled her eyes and made side comments anytime we asked a question or voiced a concern. It was clear we weren’t being treated with the same level of respect as others around us.
Not long after, I came across a TikTok from a group of POC women who had a very similar experience — and honestly, theirs was even worse. Sally, again at the center of the issue, took a chair that had one of their personal bags on it and gave it away to another guest without saying a word. That guest turned out to be the woman’s husband — but Sally didn’t care. No apology. Just cold, rude, and dismissive.
The comment section on that video is full of others who’ve been treated the same way. There’s clearly a pattern of bias and discrimination, and it’s deeply upsetting. POC do not feel welcome here, and the lack of professionalism from both waitstaff and management is alarming.
Sally should not be managing any public-facing business, especially when her behavior is this careless and biased. I’ll be blasting this across social media and standing behind the women who spoke up.
Export Lounge — get it together. I’d love for the owner to contact me directly and offer a formal apology to those women and everyone else who’s been disrespected at your business. We deserve better. I will be blasting this across all social media pages and to my 20K+ viewers and followers If my reviews get taken down, I will repost them and will be...
