I would recommend this place more than any other jewelry place any day.

They helped my husband pick out the perfect engagement ring and then custom made our wedding rings at a VERY reasonable price. His was a replica of his grandfather's ring and mine had a lot of detail, like leaves and a nature look to it, and they did an amazing job.

But what really sets them above and beyond the rest is how personable they are. They are not your average, sales driven company, but are real people there to help and really nice.

I've been married for a year and a half now and am very pregnant and swollen, so I called them to see if they could help me get my ring off (it needed to be cut off).

I was afraid that I had voided the warranty because around the time the 6 month cleaning was due, I was already starting to swell and couldn't get my ring off, so I never took it to get cleaned. I didn't really think about how long I had gone without getting it cleaned until the unexpected happened: my Dr told me that I either get it cut off now or they are going to cut it off when I go into labor.

So I went in and told them the situation and they were amazing! The cutting and resizing are not a part of the warranty, but they did cut it off at no charge. Then they told me to come back after I have the baby and they will resize both my wedding band and engagement rings for no charge! And they went ahead and cleaned my engagement ring and said not to worry about the situation of not having my ring cleaned because they will still take care of it and the warranty is still good anyway. I was NOT expecting for them to be so kind about this!!

And to top it all off, they let me bring in my dog and even gave her a treat! I don't particularly like walking down the streets of Portland by myself, so I knew I would feel safer with my dog, who is protective of me (and over 50 lbs). I mentioned this to them on the phone and they said it was totally fine, and they were more than accommodating and REALLY nice about it.

So, in a nutshell, if you want the normal company, policy/sales-driven jewelry experience go to one of the mainstream jewelry companies or something. But if you want some amazing jewelry (again, they are GREAT at making jewelry right there in their shop), a great deal, friendly staff, and a personable experience (even long after you buy the jewelry), you should definitely check...

I had a very particular ring in mind for my wife on her 30th anniversary. I hit all the chains. Nothing hit the mark. I wanted a variation of a "past present future" ring. These always have three stones. A large center one and two smaller ones on either side...with a twist. I wanted the primary stone to be a ruby. It's her favorite. I told my story to the good folks at ABC and they were the first to say...yes...we can make that for you. The process was pretty fanstastic. They have a large inventory of stones...we did discuss price...I said about $3,500. Then they brought out a range of rubies for me to choose from. I selected one and then used the balance of the budget to select the two diamonds. On to the setting. We looked a book of settings. They knew we were looking for a 3 stone setting, and they recommended one where light could get behind the stones since rubies tend to be dark. I wanted a setting that felt substantial...that made selection fairly easy. They had a week to make it. I needed it for the anniversary dinner. They gave me progress reports and had it ready on the promised day. Oh my god it was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and exceeded my expectations by a lot. When I gave it to my wife she was speechless and overjoyed. ABC made that possible. Fast forward to now...5 years later...one of the diamonds had a slight rock in it's setting. I showed up at ABC and they got right to work. They deep cleaned it and re-set that stone. The ring looks as amazing as the day I first picked it up...and...no charge for the repair. This is hands down the best jeweler around. Stephanie is awesome at what she does, super down to earth and fun and will spend all the time with you that you need, explain in depth stuff about what your looking at with no lies or nonsense. If you have a budget just tell her and she will show you everything your looking for that's in budget and wont show you anything that's over budget. Zero sales pressure or gimmicks, no trying to upsell you, no nonsense whatsoever. There prices are fantastic and the quality of there jewelry is top notch with a good selection. They do a awesome job at cleaning your jewelry as well. They also offer 100% full price trade in value of what you buy from them if later down the road you want to trade it in for something bigger or just something else. They also refund money for your parking if you park in the garage across the street.
