If you are looking at a TON of different apartments in Portland and trying to find the best one, then let me say: I know exactly what you are going through. I started with a spreadsheet of over 50 apartment complexes/shared housing, I eventually whittled the list down to a couple of choices in the nearby area. Places you are also probably looking at.
After googling, spreadsheets, tons of phone calls, and seeing ~8 of them in person, I had it down to a solid choice between this and one other apartment incredibly close by. There were a couple of things that steered me towards ultimately choosing this apartment over all the other ones I looked at in-person. And maybe these will help in your decision-making.
Living in Portland is insane right now. It’s tough for a lot of people imagining themselves being able to afford living here anymore. As of writing this review, Anthem PDX has a move-in bonus that just makes it incomparable from a value-per-dollar comparison standpoint.
As far as room layout goes, the standing shower is awesome, in-unit washer/dryer is mandatory IMO, and the closet space is definitely better than most apartments. The different rooms having different coloring schemes and tile is awesome. And the fridges here are huge! Which is amazing. Also, an absurd amount of shelf space in the kitchen; it’s probably more than you will use anyway. However, the website shows every single room having a patio, while most of them do not. This was my biggest (and only) negative.
This place has a lot of (useful) amenities. A game room with a pool table, shuffleboard, and dart board (with actual darts), The NICEST GYM you will find in any apartment in Portland, a really nice courtyard, a bike storage and repair station, etc.
This is what pushed me over the edge vs. the other apartment complex. I’ve learned over my time in life that administrative heads of any aspect of life can make-or-break your experience. Bad teachers can steer you away from a subject you loved, bad bosses can ruin a great workplace, and bad landlords/office staff in living situations can tarnish an otherwise great setup. I was not going to move to a place that didn’t 100% give me the feeling that I could trust them and that they were normal humans. Tricia’s willingness to show me multiple different options and answer all my annoying questions, coupled with Lauren’s straightforwardness and willingness to level with me, sold me. I’ve only really interacted with Tricia and Lauren at this point, but they are exactly the type of people I actually feel comfortable going to comparative to apartment complexes in the past.
I will update this review in a couple of months to make sure it accurately reflects my experience at this complex for those that find value in...
Read moreI've been here in a 1 bedroom unit since end of Feb. 2024, so almost a year. I have to say, I didn't know it was possible to enjoy living in an apartment community until now. Management has been on point, responsive, supportive, and understanding. Grant and Jessica are the folks I've worked with the most and they have both been fantastic. Yes, there is some street noise. However, I am incredibly noise sensitive and still have no problems sleeping comfortably at night, even with my sleeping space set up in my living room. I legitimately never hear my neighbors, literally at all, maybe the occasional dog barking in the hallway but never at a level that disrupts my peace. Units seem to be really well sound-proofed. I feel safe walking around the area at night, and Anthem has access to pretty much anything I could possibly want, most of it within easy walking distance. Anthem's complex has fantastic amenities with a rooftop sitting area and grill, multiple spaces for entertaining friends, and I love how secure access is. I feel like I receive consistent communication about any changes occurring, events, and notification of random things like a fire alarm. All the other residents I've met in passing have been so friendly and kind. This has really been an amazing living experience and I would 10/10 recommend Anthem...
Read moreAmazing place to live downtown! The amenities are great and always clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The maintenance team is also amazing and responds to requests freaky fast, they even helped me get one of my packages from the package room when the leasing team wasn't there yet. The walls are basically soundproof, there's luggage carts that make taking things in and out easier too. There's security patrolling the perimeter of the building at night and I never had my car broken into in the garage and even when I used to park on the street too. If they have to do maintenance improvements around the building that affect residents they're always super fast which I really appreciated since my last apartment always did this and it was a nightmare (Domaine at the Villebois in Wilsonville.) Never had my mail stolen here either. There's really nothing bad to say about living here!! The only downfall in my opinion is the small homeless community that lives on the sidewalk outside but it is downtown and to be expected...
