I just walked in with my husband and both of us said 'woah, it smells like childhood in here!' If you spent summers coming to the Cape like I did, you know what I mean about the fantastic scent of fresh fudge, salt water taffy, and penny candies in the air (now a bit more than a penny each). We ended up with 3 bricks of fudge and a large bag of taffy for a very reasonable price - about the same as ONE brick from the other fudge shop around the corner, which I'd unfortunately wandered into last year. He was very friendly he was very personable he was very knowledgeable and when we bought the fudge heat made the effort of packaging the sections of fudge in individually wrapped plastic bags to keep it fresh so that even though you don't eat all the fudge all at once it doesn't get stale and hard and dry. Penny Patch smells so good as you enter the store and then see the fudge being made on the spot! The firmness of the fudge is just the way it should be and the taste was out of this world. This was my delight!
My sister loved the taffy and neither of us could stop eating our treats once we started.
It would be worth another 600 mile drive to get some more...
