I always thought tjmax was suppose to a discount store that carried name brand items at a cheaper price! Today the day before Christmas me and my daughter found this perfect makeup travel bag for my other daughter for Christmas! Of course there was no tag, it was missing items, it had a few spots and it clearly it had gotten smooshed! So here we are with a line all the way to the back of the store and they take 25 min to tell me that they called another store and this item is from the home goods department and it was 34$ ! I looked it up and showed them that it was a (pink) make up travel back with multiple storage bags and what not! She looked at me and said so you donât want it! And took it and walked away! Merry Christmas lady! And by the way discount ha yeah right! Clearance was 4 dollars cheaper than the original price!! Management was rude and disrespectful! As a manager my self in customer service I would have tried a little harder to sell that Christmas item to the customer in stead of having an attitude! Worst front house staff ever! Like it ainât even your money you just work there! Also the one manager was wearing a flannel like she just rolled out of bed and the other didnât even look like she worked there! Presentation is everything ) I wonât be back for awhile! ( if it wasnât for me procrastinating for presents I would have left right there with nothin)
Merry Christmas Hopefully the new year will bring...
Read moreI love this store but I just witnessed a ridiculous interaction between a manager named Barb and a jewelry counter employee. The cashier called manager Barb because she was unsure of the jewelry return policy while processing a return. Barb was so impatient, loud, condescending, and annoyed with the employee for no reason. The customer doing the return paid with a check initially, and apparently you have to count the days since the purchase date to determine if they would get cash or store credit (or something to that effect). Barb was talking to the employee like she was an idiot saying just add 10 businesses days from the purchase date and then they can get cash. She basically implied âUgh, canât you count?â Of course an employee will be frazzled and upset when you speak to them like they are nothing. At this point the manager just walked away with an attitude. I was browsing the perfume case and just so happened to overhear. I did not want to interrupt and accidentally escalate the incident, and I knew that speaking up for that employee in that moment could make things worse for her.
I myself have been a previous member of management and a leader, and that was ridiculously rude. Barb should have asked the purchase date and told her exactly what to do. Then later she could have gone back in private to explain the process.
Basically, that manager sucks and needs to retire or something. Yuck....
Read moreSo my wife had to return some clothes that didn't fit, customer service didn't believe that they sold the product we are attempting to return. I went 2-3 racks over and picked out the same pants to show them that they do. I understand you cannot remember all the stuff you sell in this type of store, but give the customer the benefit and not say no we can't take them back. After that was sorted out we went to find replacement pants and brought some more ceramic knobs for our cabinets and a drain board for good price. If the nice manager didn't assist the CS staff we would have walked out and wouldn't have spent another $100 at any one of their stores. Thanks and a little further...
