Do not move here. I recently moved out after a year here and after calling multiple times was never provided the move out statement.I called 3 times and they continued to state the inspection wasnât done and it takes 2-3 weeks for the paperwork. However they provided photos of the apartment while it was still in my possession. I eventually called again and was told they were keeping the $600 deposit we made and stating we owe an additional ~$780. They stated they mailed it to us and read the address on file. I let them know we have informed delivery so all of our mail is scanned and I donât have a piece of mail from them to which they replied âit must have gotten lost in the mailâ. They provided a list of charges with no move out checklist. Upon requesting more information their lies began to unravel. I have signed documentation stating I wanted to be present at the move out inspection. I have never in the entire year allowed them to enter my apartment without permission. After waiting all day no one came and I was told âthey were busyâ. Weeks later we were told âthey attempted the inspection and knocked but no one was homeâ. Today I received photos dated on the move out date prior to when I returned my keys. This means the maintenance worker was in my home when it was in my possession with my belongings WITHOUT my permission. Ironically as soon as I left to get food they magically entered my apartment without permission. They took photos of items on the counter that we were actively moving out to justify the charges. Literally took photos of pots I have in my possession and I have a video when I left and there are clearly no pots on the counter. The apartment was not in tip to shape when we received it however we decided to let things go because itâs an apartment. People are going to live there. We have caught these people in so many lies please save yourself the headache of living here. They wonât answer the phone, they will violate your boundaries and home, and at the end theyâll lie to your face and act clueless. I wouldnât have known they were in my apartment without my permission had they not told on themselves trying to justify charged. Karma is real and thatâs exactly why they are caught in all...
Read moreProperty manager is sending thieves to our apartments as a contractors, I got stolen watches/jewelry, a Nintendo switch and some more stuff by a contractor that the property manager sent to do work in our apartment and the only solution the offer was âUse your renters insuranceâ and they didnât take any responsibility. Incredible and frustrating! This Management is the worse, also, the Corporate. Now I understand why they obligate you to have a renters insurance for them to not take any responsibility when their contractors go to the apartments to steal. I asked for the license of the contractor they sent and who stolen our stuff and they havenât provided it, it means the are contracting unlicensed people. When I asked for our safety from the people they are sending, they just responded and stating that they cannot ensure our safety from the contractors they are sending to do work in the apartment, this is really concerning. I am moving out soon and of course I donât recommend to anyone to lives here to deal with this management that smiles only to get you in but as soon you need from them they just blame you even for the...
Read moreThe best part of living at Carmel is undoubtedly the staff. Christine, Fernando, and everyone else mentioned in these reviews do an excellent job taking care of residents.
Unfortunately, thatâs where the positives end. During our year here, we experienced constant issues. No building is entirely smoke-free, which isn't the managementâs fault, but our apartment always smelled awful. I deeply regret that my sonâs first year was spent breathing that air. I do hold the front office accountable for leasing a non-smoking apartment to someone who clearly smoked.
There were frequent police visits due to domestic disputes, disturbances, or parole checks. Trash bins were constantly rummaged through by strangers, and homeless individuals (or non-residents) would jump the pool gate to either swim or sleep on loungers. One man even jumped in to sit and stare at me while I swam, which made me avoid the pool altogether.
Given how expensive these apartments are, it was impossible to justify staying. We broke our lease early to leave, and while the front office was always kind and understanding, I canât recommend this...
