This event has 💥BOOMED💥 the past few years. No exaggeration. I’ve been going for so many years, but I couldn’t even tell you how many, because every year I’ve gone it’s been kinda the same ol spoon n fork jewelry kinda gig. Sprinkled with some awesome art here and there. I don’t remember there being music, special attractions or highlights that grab people’s attention and interest. But…. The past few years all those boxes are checked and instead of it being the same ol story year after year, I’ve seen more modern artwork/artists, brilliant (mostly) local music and a show up of the community that adds a breath of fresh air that the Tri-Cities desperately needs. I worked last year as a stage manager and was able to work with the event’s coordinator, Brandy St. Claire, who never sat still, always was checking up on every faucet of the event to make sure things were running like a well oiled machine. On the rare chance there was an issue, she immediately was able to quietly diffuse the situation without a beat being skipped and get things cracking. All for the sake of the community, local artists, performers, small businesses and other private vendors. Not to mention several local charities. I’d say these past few years have been a triumphant win/win for the commonwealth and those who put it on year after year. It’s great to see progress here in Eastern Washington where stagnation seems to call home. Not anymore. I’ve heard some exciting things in store for this upcoming Art n the Park that I’m sure will spark several demographics fascination and bring ppl together rather than the same ol unnecessary divisiveness that’s plagued the 509 since as far back as I can remember. By providing a space for every circle of our society to come together and celebrate itself by allowing each other to be their authentic selves unapologetically, society can begin to see our commonalities rather than divergences. Yet still, enabling a celebration of our differences. I believe that is what makes a healthy society tick and grow forward together. By supporting one another, there is no achievement unattainable. I, for one, am grateful for its monumental success and for everyone involved in making this happen. Thank you! I’m stoked to attend/work and provide some of my gifts to the next event. Which will be the biggest Art in the Park yet! Lots of big things are in the works so don’t miss out! See y’all...
Read moreArt in the park is so fun, love it so much. Unfortunately they don’t have enough parking and all the business in the area like Windermere and Columbia river optics sucks. They have huge parking lots that are not going to be filled by all their clients. Instead of blocking off spaces for their clients and allowing people to park they block off their whole parking lot. You would think the city or Richland would figure something out with the business so that...
