I thought this place was going to be like another boot store I go to where you're greeted when you walk in and someone comes and offers to help you while you're looking but that was not the case. It was difficult to find employees as they were all in the front of the store talking not walking around trying to help customers. My fiance had to go find someone to unlock the restroom for him and then he had to find someone to help me find the other boot to a pair I was looking at, even after he found someone to help she went back to the front to continue talking. This was very unprofessional. They were also talking about who was taking breaks when we were checking out, which is also kind of unprofessional. The way they have the boots organized is confusing when you need a size larger than 9 or 9.5, and they didn't have a huge selection of sizes. I was looking for white boots, and they didn't have very many options in white either. Usually, if you find a pair in a different size, you can ask someone if they have your size, but I couldn't do that since finding people working was difficult. Also, they don't have a convenient spot to sit and try boots on when youre looking for larger sizes as the larger ones are all on a side wall and the seats are more towards the middle at the end of the aisles. Overall, it was not a great experience and this was our first time here, so I'm not sure we will be back in the future. I'd rather go to some places in portage or valpo where the people are actually helpful and not just standing around talking and having to hunt someone down every time you have a...
Read moreI'm a loyalty member because I've purchased online before. I was excited 2 finally be visiting a boot barn that opened 30 minutes away from me. I decided to go in store to shop since I needed it for this weekend. Upon walking in the store I noticed that there were no employees around. I even looked towards the register and no one was there. I proceeded to the mens department to look at jeans & I was going through the different stacks looking for a size & trying to decide what the different cuts were. I then noticed an employee which I looked at but she didn't even acknowledge me. I ignored it and finally after awhile found what I was looking for then went on to look for a men's dress shirt. Finally after about 20 minutes of being in the store I headed towards the front to checkout. Two customers that were walking out with no purchase were approached by an employee to acknowledge the red boots the one lady had on. Again no acknowledgement of me & my 6 year old. When I got to the register I stood there and the lady was just standing at the back counter & just looked at me. She seemed annoyed that she had to come to the register to check me out. At this point I felt like it was me because I'm Hispanic but I'm American and speak perfect English. I said hello & she didn't even respond!! At that point I probably should have left the merchandise on the counter and walked out of the store! I spent over $100. So disappointed with my first instore experience. Sadly I won't be going back nor recommend this location! Merrillville, IN cashier Jessica & other older...
Read moreHuge selection, and every employee was awesome when I bought my boots. However, when your target demographic is blue collar men and woman who need comfortable boots, you should probably have a return policy. Bought a pair of hawx brand boots (for personal use, not even for work) and they’re killing my feet. Had them barely over a week. Was told over the phone if they’re worn, they won’t exchange them. Never in my life have I heard of this. Redwing has taken a pair of boots back because they leaked after 4 months. Edited this review because the manager made it right. She was also super nice and professional and explained...
