TBK WELLNESS SPA — Local services in Roswell

I received a text from TBK to provide a google review, so that’s what I’m doing. It’s slightly comical because the company severed business relations with myself and my mother for a reason I’ll explain below.

We both were using TBK for massages and personal training for a few months, and I had recommended friends to them. The facility is pretty and gave me a sporty spa vibe. Jay is a great masseuse and fun to train with.

My mother and I purchase 8 training sessions together. Once we were done with the sessions, we purchased another 8 sessions (because we were both enjoying the training). We continued their spa treatments too. During the second training package, we communicated that we’d be out of town for a couple weeks. When we got back in town, we were told we needed to renew another 8 sessions because the package had to be completed in 30 days. This was never communicated to us verbally. The owner, said it was in the contract signed, but we do not recall that contract but also feel that this was a key detail that should have been communicated (especially when we shared we’d be out of town for 2 weeks). At the time of this conversation, my mom used 4 sessions and I used 5.

The owner said for us to workout that day with Jay and that we’d connect after the training to figure out how to move forward. Jay was upbeat that day and said everything would work out and to not worry about it. My mother called the owner to get on the same page following the workout (the truth is we wanted to continue using their spa services and training and were planning to renew another 8 sessions). She did not receive a call back, but that night she received this email message from TBK: “Based on todays conversation regarding personal training effective immediately, it is in the best interest of TBK Wellness Spa that we no longer continue our business relationship.”

To me, the punishment didn’t fit the situation. My mom asked for “grace” to finish out our second round of sessions, and then moving forward we’d know they had to be done within 30 days… and that based on our summer vacation schedule, we’d start them when we knew we have 30 days to get all the sessions in. Or a compromise would have worked too!

This showed me that they are not smart business owners and they are not treating clients like family as their advertising says. We were supportive and consistent customers who planned to continue giving them our business for the long haul.

Unfortunately, in the end, I wouldn’t recommend this facility because I believe as a company they don’t have good customer service values.

My mom did not raise her voice, not once, and no one said anything about lying. Not sure where that is coming from? The words my mom used were “Can you extend us some grace here because we did not know.” If my mother was screaming at you/calling you a liar, why would you have let us stay and workout that day? Doesn’t make sense.

We didn’t have 9 sessions. My mom and I together had 4 and I came individually for a 5th. I was asked to come individually - we didn’t know that would mean my mom would have 1 less session. That was news to us during our conversation, and understood and accepted.

I did promote TBK - some of my best friends purchased services from you for their mothers for Mother’s Day, in which they came and had a nice day.

Wow wow wow. This place is way more amazing than you’d ever guess! Such an unassuming location; don’t judge a book by its cover! Jay in particular is A-MAZ-ING for a facial. I have been getting facials for decades from amazing places all over North Atlanta (and some in other states too). I honestly thought some of those experiences couldn’t be beat. Well, I was wrong!!! Jay took my facial experience to the next level! I didn’t ask (because I was so busy relaxing), but I suspect that Jay also went to massage therapy school. During all those 10 minute waits that facials always have, Jay massaged my shoulders and mid-to-upper back exactly how the best of the best massage therapists do it. Every aspect was comfortable and relaxing, yet he still cleaned my face thoroughly. Even blackhead removal and dead lip skin removal wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable; usually that’s the no-pain-no-gain part of a facial. And comparing to a hydrofacial, this facial was as thorough without having the mess of excess liquids that hydrofacials have. Their prices are reasonably competitive; try them out yourself, and if you are comfortable trying a facial with a man (I know for some ladies that’s a hard no, and I respect that), ask for Jay! I thoroughly enjoyed my spa day at TBK Wellness. From the moment you enter the door the smell just captivates you. The spa is super clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I received a massage with Jay, who is a male and I just want to say that he made me feel very safe. He consistently stayed professional throughout my entire service. He gave me a very thorough stretch and even though I was moving all around on the table I was consistently covered. He also did my body scrub and even though I was fully naked I did not feel over exposed at any moment. My facial with Kameeka was top tier. I hardly ever get facials because I always feel like I can't breathe but she educated me on the products that she was using, still allowing me space to relax and just enjoy my facial. I ended up falling asleep. My reflexology pedicure with Chassidy was the perfect ending to my spa day. As a stylist who stands on her feet all day she really helped to relieve all the tension in my legs and feet. There was not one service that I enjoyed over the other because they were all equally great.
