First off, the candy is $13.12 A POUND!! We bought 6 pieces of gummy sharks and it cost us $3.42 .... How do these people sleep at night? Secondly, Shyanne "the manager" was extremely rude to a young boy who was there on a school field trip. The young boy (who recently lost his mother) only had a fifty dollar bill (bc his father is still new to being a single dad) and Shyanne said "I can't take a fifty and took the over priced candy of the scale and set it behind her. How on earth can this company not except a fifty dollar bill when they charge an outrageous amount of money for a few pieces of loose candy?!!! And to take the candy off the scale and set it behind her like that was very unprofessional! This young man walked away with a red face and his head hung low! What's even sadder is she just checked a $20 bill with a fake money pen!!! 8 children purchased candy from this over priced candy shop and paid about $45 all together.. How could she of not taken taken the fifty dollar bill from this boy? Sadly, I bought the candy for the young man bc he was embarrassed and shamed all bc of Shyanne's behavior and in front of his school mates! I HATED TO GIVER HER MY MONEY but had to bc all the other children in his class were getting candy and he would have been the only one not too!!!! I confronted her about the fifty and the young boys situation and she was very unprofessional and had zero compassion!!! Bottom line, she was a living nightmare to deal with on top of the store being way over priced!!! We will never shop at Mix & Match Candy Shoppe again; I would rather throw my money...
Read moreSuch a great little shop!! It is a very small "mom & pop" that has candy by the pound and also freestanding nostalgic pieces. I don't remember the exact prices, but it seemed to be less than most places you would find in a "touristy" area.
I was amazed by a lot of the reviews -- this is smack dab in the center of Old St. Augustine -- and a perfect joint to run inside and cool off and purchase a few of your favorite treats to share with your grandkids, kids, or significant other. Very well kept -- they seem to rotate their offerings (there were many boxes being unpacked while we were there).
The woman working there was awesome. Helpful and kind -- she asked if we needed help finding anything. Our family was too involved in looking at a lot of the nostalgic offerings.
A must stop and a perfect local...
Read moreShe overcharged me ten dollars for like 5 gummies then when they were stale and inedible told me to leave. I tried to negotiate and she threw the receipt very agitated at me. The whole time I felt very uncomfortable and as a teenager who saved up all my money and spent it all in the first store on some inedible candy it ruined my day. Never will I be going back to the store. The containers that keep the candy were partially open which makes ALL of the candy stale and disgusting. Not to mention it’s unsanitary to use the same tongs to grab all of the candy. Hire some new workers and ensure the buckets are sealed and i’ll consider...
