I’ve been to Mio’s Mediterranean Restaurant several times now, and it’s always an absolute delight from start to finish! This gem serves up some of the most flavorful and authentic Mediterranean dishes I’ve ever tasted, and the warm, welcoming service made the experience even better.
The Greek Salad was a standout—crisp romaine, juicy tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and tangy feta, all tossed in a zesty homemade Greek dressing. The black olives and oregano added that perfect Mediterranean flair. It was fresh, vibrant, and the ideal start to the meal.
The Chicken Sauté was a hearty dish packed with flavor. The tender chicken was cooked with tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, and mushrooms in a savory sauce, served over rice pilaf with warm pita on the side. Every bite was a comforting burst of Mediterranean spices.
The Yogurt Kebab was another highlight—succulent, thinly sliced beef-lamb mix nestled on a bed of rice pilaf, topped with a creamy, tangy yogurt sauce that tied it all together.
The Grilled Meatball Dish is equally impressive, featuring juicy, well-seasoned hamburger patties grilled to perfection, served with a side of rice pilaf that complimented the meat perfectly. The balance of spices and textures makes it a must-try.
The Chicken Tenders were golden, crispy, and juicy. They’re perfect for anyone craving a classic done right.
What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service from our waiter, Mehmet, and waitress, Iva. Mehmet was incredibly attentive, offering great recommendations with a genuine smile that made us feel right at home. His knowledge of the menu and enthusiasm for the food was infectious. Iva was equally wonderful—her warm, friendly demeanor and quick check-ins ensured we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The accent of both waiters also helped to give the restaurant an authentic feel. Their hospitality embodies the Mediterranean spirit of welcoming guests like family.
Mio’s is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, delicious Mediterranean cuisine in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re a fan of fresh salads, savory kebabs, hearty meatballs, or comforting classics, the food here will leave you satisfied. And with stellar servers like Mehmet and Iva, you’re guaranteed a memorable...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to St. Pete, I was on a quest to find authentic Turkish or Greek food. I honestly did not think I would find anything other than a local takeout place for gyro’s. Surprisingly, I hit the culinary jackpot when I found Mio’s Grill! This is, without a doubt, St. Petersburg’s hidden culinary treasure! The food is not only authentic but freshly prepared with great skill and love! Our waiter, Mehmet was fabulous! He not only made excellent recommendations but provided excellent service! This restaurant surprisingly also offers vegan and vegetarian options! St. Pete’s very own Sumi-e artist, Ms. Jo-An Frances was one of my guests and ordered the Babaganoush which was indeed epic! The savory eggplant combined with super silky hummus provided a delectable feast all by itself as each freshly baked pita wedge scooped up every creamy bite! The tzatziki sauce was also incredibly delicious. It was prepared with garden fresh dill and simply melted in your mouth! You cannot go wrong with any dish you order here! We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Bora who is also the owner. For dessert, he presented us with Turkish black tea and Turkish coffee along with the most amazing baklava that simply melts on your tongue. Chef even read my coffee grounds which is also a fascinating custom. On a side note, Chef Bora could win Iron Chef hands down. He is a culinary guru! This is a man with a great love of food and makes each dish with an authentic homemade taste, straight out of Turkey!
This is one restaurant that is great for any occasion and especially if you want authentic food that will leave you eagerly anticipating your next visit. The environment is spotless, cozy and displays authentic décor from Turkey. The fresh flowers on each table provide a sweet touch that adds to the elegance of this intimate...

Before venturing out to dinner last night I decided to search Groupon and found that there was only one restaurant in all of St Pete that offered one and that was at Mio's. Before dinner was over I purchased another Groupon because we will definitely be back and this is why. I called to reserve a table and Melissa put us in a great booth. At first entering, the all white interior can be overwhelming but then after a few minutes I realized we were being taken out to dinner in the Greek Islands. Melissa knows the menu inside and out and the ingredients in each dish. We started with the Homemade Hummus with the Homemade warm Pita Bread along with the Homemade Spinach-Feta Borek and they were both amazing. The hummus was creamy with a drizzle of top quality olive oil. The crust of the Borek was crisp and flaky, just like it should be. Then we split a Greek Salad with Homemade dressing which again was very good. Our entrees were the Falafel Wrap Dinner and the Mio's Yogurt Kebap. The wrap was very tasty and the tortilla wrap was thin and crispy leaving more room for inside the wrap. The Kebap was very tasty too. The beef was so tender I didn't need a knife and the yogurt, which I had on the side was very good too. I could have kept going and I did with desert of homemade Baklava that was filled with fresh pistachio's along with a fresh Turkish coffee. The Baklava was none like I've had before and I've had it many times back in New Jersey and New York. Don't hesitate - Go Tonight!! Lastly the photos you see scrolling on the TV in the back and on the menu is their actual dishes. Nothing is fake here and it's authentic Turkish...
