Ok. First and foremost... we're still talking about how amazing the food was and it's been a few days now. We've even discussed several times now what we're going to try on our next visit. The location was epic, the mood was casual. Staff were very friendly and inviting, greeted with smiles and hello and/or welcome. Our waitress was patient and attentive, given it was our first time there. With all that, I'm going to jump into the food and drink... The drink list is quite substantial, with literally every flavor or mixture you could desire. I was able to try not only a cocktail I've never had before but also a beer I've never even heard of. I tried The Grind and followed it with the Kronenbourge 1664. Both were top notch too say The least. My date had their 20/20 followed by seltzers. And as amazing as the drinks were I would be remiss to not mention the food. We selected the Copper Fondo to share and also decided to split the Crispy Pork Tomahawk. To be honest this was not an easy choice as everything on the menu sounded appealing and enticing. The Copper Fondo arrived first... this is when we realized that that in itself would have been plenty for the both of us but then we still had the Crispy Pork Tomahawk coming. Needless to say, we devoured every single morsel of food. Must note, the steak has literally ruined every other steak I've ever had. It was so ridiculously tender and savory that I almost felt guilty eating the last couple pieces (to my credit I was heavily prompted to enjoy them). I just shake my head because I can't convey in words just how amazing the entire meal was. When the Crispy Pork Tomahawk was presented I was in awe, it was exactly as I pictured it, just utterly perfect. The flavors and slight crisp along with the melt in your mouth tenderness of the pork couldn't have been any better. The taste matched the sight without compare. For risk of sounding like an eloquent broken record... You. Must. Come. Here. For. Yourself. I want to extend my deepest thanks to ExChef Berto for having us over, and making us feel like family. You and everything that is The Copper Shaker are on a completely different level. 10 outta 10...
Read moreNever had a bartender throw a temper tantrum over asking for a glass of water before. You really need to get rid of the girl working last Saturday night. I wont ever return to this place, either way. She was wearing a black/white top.
Ordering a cocktail and asking for a glass of water with it is pretty common in which she threw a fit over as she didn't want to simply pour a glass of water as she repeatedly told me there on the ends of the bar or I can sell you a bottle of water... okay fine. But you could just as well easily fill one up for me in the time you took refusing to do so and arguing- you weren't busy at all Saturday. The male bartenders have always been happy to fill up a glass of ice water for me and others after ordering so not sure why this was such a big deal.
So she preceded to throw a temper tantrum and violently shaking the shaker dropping it on the ground and then slams an ice cub into a cup to make a point, then proceeds dumping the drink all over the glass and counter carelessly to make sure I knew that she was unhappy I asked for water. I cleaned up the mess and wiped off the glass and counter which had coffee all over the sides dripping from her antics. Didn't bother to ask for her to add the coffee beans to garnish the drink like she's supposed to, lord know what reaction she would have had?
I was pretty close to leaving the drinks on the counter (I should have) after she did this but decided to pay, drink them and leave 5 minutes later to go somewhere else.
Dont care what your response is as I'll never return to a place with an employee that treats a customer like that for simply asking for a glass of water. ( For the record I'm the guy in the $7k Tom Ford blazers that comes in every weekend, the male bartenders have always been good.) I watched her do tbis to another person after me as well that asked for water.
As someone that works in business advisory and a fairly successful consultatant I will say, there's nothing truer then the statement of it takes 1 bad actor to ruin 20 years of...
Read moreWow! It’s got a dark old timey type feel, like a great speakeasy. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were great conversationalists and spot on with the menu for food and drinks. The drink specials were eclectic but amazing. On the higher end of middle for pricing but we felt it was money well spent.
The menu has interesting takes and offerings. I normally avoid charcuterie boards as they tend to be overpriced plates of boring meats and cheese with what feels like boring jellies and jams. They have a meat and cheese version and a seafood version. At $30 for the seafood one, I kept passing it up until I asked if the staff thought it was worth the price. We got a resounding and without hesitation - YES!!! House smoked fish, house made pickles, caviar when they have it with everything seasoned flatbreads. Ok! We’ll take one and that makes it a cheaper meal than ordering 2 separate dishes. We were not disappointed. The smoked salmon was flavorful but not fishy or oily. The smoked tuna was chopped like a crude tartare. The mahi was yummy. We had caviar on the board so we considered ourselves lucky. It was indeed worth it and we are everything. Even the gooseberry and micro greens garnish!
We will go back to try the regular meals and enjoy the drinks, too. This is someplace we want to bring our parents and friends to, without question. Can’t...
