Most fraudulent experience in my life. Pled no contest in hopes the judge, Lisa whatever her name was, would hear my side of the story on the frivolous charge i appeared for. Instead, began speaking and was immediately interrupted by her, about something that had nothing to do with the charge at hand. She started going on about how the officers could've shot me and how she was being fair by not giving me the maximum fine. What? She asked me to explain and instead was shot down a quarter of the way through it and then the bailiff started advancing toward me, telling me to shut up. I never once raised my voice or made an smart ass remarks or anything. He started calling for back up and everything. I'm in shock of how fraudulent this magistrate courthouse is. First thing they ask you is, "how much can you pay today"? What? Lmfao! They ask you that before the ask you, "do you want to plead guilty, no contest or not guilty! I was here for a theft of service charge for cab fair. The cabby almost killed me twice due to road rage he was having with another can driver. The cabby called the police when i asked for a supervisor to call me first. The police came into my home and drug me out, started illegally swiping my credit cards with the cabby and when they locked them all up for not knowing the pin, took me to jail for theft of service. There was 3 witnesses there. The judge said, "how do you know your rights, have you gone to law school or are you a lawyer"? That is what the system is banking on. That's all these crooked police departments and judges are about. The money! Once they don't get they're way they just make things harder on you or sick their dogs on you. It was amusing that she said i could've been shot by the police. For what? Voicing my civil rights to them? Then to come to court and stand on front of a crooked judge that asks to hear your side, cuts you off before you finish, starts telling you she's assessing the fines and when i said I'm not paying for anything unfair, she lashes out at me and the bailiff starts tries a feeble attempt to intimidate me for voicing my rights. I was the calmest one in the room, lol! What an experience! Even if you try your best to stay out of trouble, they still come for you. They need one call and they're there to hit you up for your money from that point on, through the entire so called "justice system" here in San Antonio. I'm currently looking for an attorney to both file a lawsuit on the police department and cab company for multiple credit card...
Read moreOK. If you are coming here most likely it is for something you would rather not have to do. I had to pay a ticket and was very nervous. I had never been to this building or gone through this process, so I was really worried.
I know some don't like having to pay for parking and even for $4 if that is you, get to the area early and I am sure you could find something free and then walk.
I picked parking in the lot and I am glad I did. I was parked at 8:45am which if you can be early do it because the lot and building were not busy. I walked in the front door and received a friendly greeting from the security team. You go through the metal detector and see a check-in area to the left. Before, I even walked in that direction another officer walked over and greeted me and began explaining to me where to go and what to do! SO nice! I waited in the check in line for just a minute and was immediately told what to do next. This was NOT at all the stressful experience I was expecting. I walked away from that line and was again basically escorted to the next room by the kind officer from before. Even if it's too busy for them to do this for you the signs and explanations from the staff will surely get you where you need to go.
Everyone in the court room and the room outside the court was very kind and accommodating. Remember they are human too and deserve respect and patience. The judge only talked for a minute, but was still very nice and not intimidating. After finishing everything with my ticket I left the court room and went to the front where you can pay for the parking. Went back to the parking lot and got ready to my car by 9am! Literally that fast of a process if it isn't busy. By 9 though the parking lot was picking up and was slightly difficult to maneuver in.
Overall, try to be early or understand there may be a wait. Be nice to the workers and staff and they will be nice back. Don't get tickets in the...
Read moreI called to ask a simple question and confirm the request was taken care of online and the clerk "Operator #1" was extremely rude and also disclosed information she shouldn't have. The ticket was in my son's name, but my question was general. She asked for the ticket # so she can look at the notes and continued on with telling me she didn't see what I was talking about in his file. I explained that we had received a confirmation email, and she proceeded to tell me "I'm the one that works here so I would know if I'm wrong". I then asked for her name, and she said she didn't want to give it to me and just gave me Operator 1. I asked to speak to her manager, and she said nobody else worked there just her. I questioned that and she hung up on me. I called again and the next operator by the name of Dalia said she would need to talk to my son to give any information (which I totally agree with) so my son went ahead and spoke to her. I originally called to ask a general question and Operator 1 was not listening at all. Instead, was talking over me and louder than me making it a point not to hear me. I had to call back after all that to ask for her manager's name (which she said was Valerie) but was not available because she was at an event at the courthouse. That she would be out until Monday. I just really hope we got the correct information, and this doesn't turn into a bigger headache than what it already...
