Casbah — Local services in San Diego

I have A little hat, glasses and a slightly undersized plaid shirt I now have songs with lot's of 'Ooohh's' and 'AaHhh's' certainly nothing to offend anyone. Nice music for steampukers a thAshayer's of all kinds. Mostly for slghtly over weight pasty folks and string bean types with their "vapes" oh and I have a beard and I'm working on a nice sweet little "man-bun" which i may have to cut a hole in the centre of my little hat for.Oh well to be fashionable one sometimes has to pay a price. We play cello's oboe's and a barely audible electric violin great music to organize your stamp collection to. I also sometimes play the electric spinach pan and sway drunkenly back and forth, shaking my flab, if you will... during my kazoo solo. Oh and for the guy having the 'financial discussion w/ his wife' I think if you wait till real late when you're sure she's asleep you may be able to quietly creep around your apt./condo,very quietly so as not to get caught, you may want to very cautiously rummage around in her hand bag you may find that your testicles lie therein. I am so bummed out how mean spirited and intolerant The Casbah security is. The door crew and bartenders are not that cool or welcoming either. They're too cool for school. They don't really care to greet folks or smile at all. At The Casbah I banged a half-full small plastic cup of water down on bar for dramatic effect to a song which splashed my friend very lightly. I'm 25 minutes into the brilliant amazing surf punk loud wonderful Plague Vendor show. I was not wasted. Totally lucid. A security man came up and said I got him wet and had to leave. I do not know how he could have gotten wet. They were raindrops from a mid level amount of water from a small cup. I apologized over & over. Begged for him to reconsider. My friends pleaded. But No, we got escorted out the stage left side door. This kind of intolerance and irrational authority just lowers all regard for San Diego nightlife. The Casbah is infected with a no-sense attitude. So to The Casbah security man who overexerted his power: Kharma is a boomerang and if your head gets lopped off in this life, you won't miss it cuz you didn't...

Hands down, one of the BEST venues in the country for live music! I was lucky enough to live in San Diego in the mid 90's and witnessed some amazing bands here. My friend and I love this place so much, we fly to SD from New Orleans & Tampa every time the Casbah has an anniversary show. Last time we saw No Knife + Rob Crow the same night for only $20!! I seriously would've paid triple that price. The sound quality and in house engineering in this venue is amazing. Perfectly balanced, clear vocals, guitars sit just right in the mix. Awesome drink selection, lots of local craft beers on draft at reasonable prices. The outdoor patio area is nice, perfect for smokers & you can still hear the music clearly. They sometimes have a band out back too, in between sets at the main stage. You can buy tix online which is perfect for out of towners like me.
