This was my 2nd visit to Nolita Hall and the first was great so, brought out of state guests this time (2 women in their early 60's and one women (daughter) in her 30's). I made a 5:30 reservation (2 days prior and there was availability every 15 minutes for a Saturday. Note: there is also a 2 hour limit on a table.) and received a text at 5:10 that my table was ready! We checked in at 5:15 and were promptly seated. Since it was Saturday, the noise level was extremely high due to the large number of people standing in the bar area. Our waiter did not come over to us for some time - 1st warning sign. And, when he did, he was not friendly, informative or very helpful - 2nd warning sign. After about 15 minutes he came around and we ordered drinks. They arrived within expected timeframe. We didn't see him again for some time. Came by later and asked if we wanted to order food. We were not ready as we were waiting for my husband to arrive. At 6:08, he came by and told us that "since we were walk-in's, we needed to leave the table by 7:15 as they had a reservation for the table" (not true - 3rd warning). I told him I had made a reservation and that it was my understanding we had the table until 7:30. He left to talk to the hostess. The hostess came to our table and informed us that, "since we checked in at 5:15, we needed to leave by 7:15, then she left (uh, they told me to check in via text otherwise, we would have waited until 5:30. This was the final straw). We were very confused and extremely disappointed by this type of extremely poor service. The waiter did not come around again for sometime to ask if we wanted to order food (given that we were told to leave, how could we order if he never cam around?). Once he did come back we shared our concerns and requested the bill as we had decided to leave due to the terrible service. The manager came over and we shared with him how we had been treated so poorly. He was apologetic and agreed that training was needed by his staff. He reversed charges on our drinks and offered to comp another round and food. By this time though, we just wanted to leave as the service had been so bad, who knows what could have happened next. We walked down India St. to Salunto's and were greeted by amazing service and enjoyed a delicious meal. Not sure if I will ever return to Nolita Hall or recommend...
Read moreParking in little Italy is a pain. There’s ACE parking structure at the corner or paid street parking. If you’re lucky, you’ll find a free spot in front of a residential home.
We had our fur babies with us and made a reservation to sit outside at 5:45pm. They told us it’s a 2 hour time limit and we had to be done by 7:30pm because another party is booked after us.
I saw dogs inside too so I suppose if you want to stay longer, you should book standard seating because there were a handful of empty tables.
This place serves a little bit of everything from salad to veggies, pizzas to land, sea and pasta dishes. For a party of 6, we ordered all plates to share.
-Jalisco ($22) - Birria pizza in 6 slices with a side of consome (birria broth).
-Venison meatballs ($16) - 4 large meatballs on a skewer w apricot mostarda which is like a chutney.
-Charred octopus ($18) - I love octopus but it’s not worth it for this price. It’s good but you only get 4 - one inch pieces which is like a tentacle of a small octopus surrounded by cucumbers.
-La scala chop ($18) - similar to a typical wedge salad
-Pork back ribs ($18) - came with 4 ribs and the flavor taste like an Asian marination with five spice topped with crushed peanuts.
-Duck fettuccine ($34) - This would be my favorite and I could it all myself. It was sweet and savory and had more mushrooms than duck pieces.
-Wood fried asparagus ($16) - Interesting twist with the breadcrumbs, salsa verde and soft boiled egg. However, I would skip this dish too. It was a joke to pay $16 for a few strands of asparagus.
I would say the 7 dishes we ordered would be perfect for a party of 4 max. So order more or you’ll leave hungry.
Their drinks were delicious.
The gang buys a boat - sweet refreshing with yuzu, lemon grass, coconut, ginger, lime, Prosecco
Floor is guava - tequila, mole bitters, tequila, guava, lemon. Not refreshing or sweet but gave me a good buzz after these two drinks.
On Weds+Thurs, they have $1...
Read moreMade this reservation a month prior and was so excited to come eat here and be in those festive environment! That wasn’t the case though… made the reservation in advanced and we were seated in at a table in front of the door that was wide open blowing air at us.. needless to say we were pretty chilly during our meal.. :/ That was pretty upsetting honestly.. and it was pretty loud inside too with the people crowded around d the bar and servers running around trying to tend to everyone. It’s clear they were under staffed and over worked. We had a great server Ryan who was pretty on top of our orders and acknowledged when we were waiting longer than we should have. He was great and awesome to have at our table. We would have asked him to sit with us if he was off the clock that’s how great he was! And honestly he turned out night around given the fact that it was so cold where we were at.
My friend and I ordered Crispy Baby Romaine, a side of Truffle Fries, Beef Carpaccio and the 16oz New York Strip Steak. We got the Crispy Baby Romaine chopped because our server recommended it like that so we could share it and it was perfect well seasoned and refreshing! I would order the salad for pick up on my way home if I’m passing through! The truffle fries were amazing! My friend and I ate both clean eating but we indulged in those fries for the night and they were really rewarding! The Beef Carpaccio was so well seasoned with yuzu and fresh with the arugula salad on top! It was so delicious! And even though it’s a carpaccio, it was absolutely filling! and the 16oz New York Strip Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well! The grilled artichoke with it was so crunch and seasoned amazing I ate them both before anything else! The drinks were well flavored and strong! Over all it was a good experience food wise! And honestly Ryan our service really helped bring the...
