I typically give 5 stars if I love a place and 1 star if I don't. To me, anything in-between is disingenuous to a reader. That being said, the only reason Rakiraki gets 2 stars is because their Kirin was great.

The ramen though? Absolutely terrible. I went for dinner with my girlfriend and we ended up walking out without either one of us finishing our overpriced bowls of ramen. Two basic bowls of and a beer was $50 with tip. Insane considering it was one of the worst ramen bowls I've ever had. The cuts of chicken were extremely poor. The vegetable ramen my girlfriend got had slices of pork in it.

The place itself was disappointing, too. As we walked in, it smelled like someone had sprayed too much Lysol to cover up an even more unpleasant smell. The tables were cramped and poorly arranged. The staff was pleasant enough, so no real issue there.

Bottom line? Find another place to eat - even if you're...

This is not the first Ramen spot I’ve been to but this place is cool. Was recommended by my nephew and he was right about the food it hits the spot. The food looked and tasted amazing! Since it was my first time I went for the original Ramen (boring right)? No it wasn’t, it had chunks of chicken and other ingredients in it; bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, seaweed just to name a few. The serving size is big. I shared it with a friend. And we shared a sushi roll. My belly was hap

My nephew really loved the the crispy chicken karaage serve over rice with sweet chili sauce. He loved it so much we went back the next day to order the same thing. The staff seems busy in the back but our waitress was nice and helpful with the menu.

One thing that confuse e both of us though was when I checked in, it said I can get a free fountain drink which they didn’t have per our waitress. But she still honored...

I heard good things about this restaurant and decided to take my family.

Let me just say that the food is good but a little over priced for the portions you will be getting. Wanted to try takoyaki and an order of 4 small pieces was $12, let me remind you that takoyaki is squid with other vegetables all deep fried the size of a golf ball at it's biggest.

Then the main dish (ramen) I could easily fit all the noodles on my spoon (those over sized asian spoons) but still at the most it was a handful.

Finally I wasn't eating alone I was with my wife and daughter but might as well been because none of us ate together, we all received our orders about 10 to 15 minutes apart and because the dishes were so small we all ate at different times, almost as if we were taking turns.

Maybe it was just me or it was an off day for the restaurant but I don't think we'll be...

So, I grew up in Japan, I've had ramen a third of the price that blows this stuff away. The flavor is decent overall, but something was lacking. The portion of noodles in the bowl was just a little too small. The pork was really good. The serving is really tiny for the price paid, really, it should be no more than 8 bucks per bowl (with all the stuff you see in there in my picture) if this is how their serving size works. You can see my reviews of ramen I've had recently in Japan and see the difference immediately. Presentation had almost no effort, and that is one of the most important aspects of Japanese food. The broth was perfect. There was no hot sesame oil offered, just sesame seeds everywhere...the intent is good, but it's not the same.

The food here is delicious. They have vegan options like the tofu veggie gyoza - little dumplings that you can dip in a type of soy sauce that is stellar. They also have a "vegetarian" ramen bowl that is very filling, made with spinach noodles & topped with crispy tofu, corn, & bamboo shoots. The space is kind of small; there is one large table that can seat maybe 10-12 people, along with smaller tables for couples & small groups. The wait staff all have a professional-chef-disguised-as-a-dirty-hipster look, very friendly & amenable. I recommend the peach soju.
