I came in with my friends for graduation nails. We chose gel x and everything was fine at first, but slowly I started to notice the awful job that was being done. The gel was completely stuck to the skin of my nails on multiple fingers, there were huge chunks of gel under the tips, and the back of the nails near the cuticles had huge air bubbles, and were not filed at all. (All this was noticeable when we had reached the final steps). In addition the French tip was extremely messy, there were specs of nail polish on the bed of some of my nails and the nails had a foggy appearance. When I asked the woman why there were so many air bubbles she said that was from my own nail… clearly it was not and I asked for someone else’s help as the woman was seemingly getting upset and denying my request. They ended up fixing my nails which took an extra hour out of my day, so I was in there for a total of almost three hours. I didn’t receive an apology from the first woman. Considering the amount of time and treatment, being charged 83 dollars at the end was outrageous. My friends and I will not be returning, and I recommend you take your business elsewhere as it is a hit or miss at this salon. Came here for the first time this week and was SO pleased! I got a Gel X full set and a gel pedicure and a few things stood out to me: HUGE plus they actually did a PROPER removal of my old Gel X set and soaked them off. So many nail salons have just pried my old ones off which lowkey kind of hurts. The designs look AMAZING. He drew those stars by hand but they literally look like decals because they’re so perfect! They recreated the Pinterest photo I showed them perfectly. A handful of salons I’ve been to have tried to simplify the designs, I think because they don’t want to do the full effort, which makes me feel guilty for even asking them do anything at all. He also was very good about finding the right colors himself but still asking me if I liked them. I had Kevin for the manicure and would highly recommend! The neatest designs...

When I parked my car in the complex where this store is, wanting to order an ice cream from Pacific Beach Ice Cream company (which is also in the same complex), a staff member from Sky Nails and Spa assumed I was there to go to a temple nearby (likely due to my ethnic background) and asked me to park my car elsewhere. I was with my 2 year old during this time and he (or another staff member) pressed the panic/car honk button of their car (parked beside mine) just as I got out of my car, which was a bit jolting for both me and my child.

Now, Pacific Beach Ice Cream was closed and I did move my car a few minutes later after realizing that, but the fact that the staff member was rude, assumed my intent, and that the parking lot was nearly empty with several open spots gave me a pretty bad aftertaste about this business...
