I never had a nightmare experience like today at fashion valley Macy’s Dior cosmetic. I prepaid for a pre-sale on June 5, 2019 with 5 items =$176 to ship to my house. I got a package from Chanel cosmetic on June 11 for the same pre-sale on June 5, but never received the Dior cosmetic package.
I went to the store at noon, I was told it was delivered to the post office and my community locker box. So I drove straight to the local post office to check but nothing was there, and I checked the locker box as well, but nothing.
I called Dior cosmetics this afternoon and was told I can get a refund. I drove again to Macy’s, when the sell lady was going to exchange couple items and gave me a refund, a manager walked over and told us that it is not ok to give me a refund and the sale person needs to call another manager for decision. (the sale person told me she talked two managers already and they agreed to give a refund) so the sale lady called another manager for decision.
Meanwhile, another sale lady came over from another counter and told the Dior sale lady that she can’t sell me the items in case Dior will be shorter on items! ( can you image a sale person who doesn’t want to sell items to customers? I was shocked and speechless.)
Finally the manager walked to us, she refused to give me a refund or items I pre-purchased. She was very rude and ruined my day.
The manager said if a package goes out of Macy’s, then it is not the store responsibility for lost. I should go to UPS to claim a lost. But on UPS website, it was written: “Package is not eligible for claim submission. Please contact the shipper for further assistance. [UPS:E022]”
My concerns are: if I paid but never received the package, why should I lost my money?
The manager saw I was so angry, then she gave me $100 Macy’s money coupon which will expire on June 30, 2019. She told me she can’t give me a refund but she can only give me $100 coupon to cover part of lost. I refused that. Then she went to upstairs to find other coupons for a total $175 which will expire on June 30, 2019.
I was very upset to the manager, the way how she talked was even not a professional manager way and she was very rude to me.
I didn’t get my refund today, the manager just excused that the package was lost but it was not the store’s responsibility once the package was out of the store door.
The store should contact with UPS for the lost, and it is one of them responsibilities for the refund or lost, it is totally not for me to loose my money!
On UPS website: it is written: “Cannot submit claim. Package is not eligible for claim submission. Please contact the shipper for further assistance. [UPS:E022]”
I am a customer, I can not just loose my money with nothing! Even no apology!
I am very upset today and I will never buy Dior cosmetic from Macy’s at fashion...
Read moreI had a really poor experience with one of the employees in the men's suit department last week with whom I felt "brushed off" after I told him I wouldn't be buying today and was trying on for an idea on general fits to get a better idea of where to start when returning. Seeing as I have a difficult time finding an extra slim suit, I went back to check their selection and try on a few different styles as well as take notes on measurements. I figured I would just avoid the unpleasant demeanor and attitude of the aforementioned employee whom, from my understanding, gets paid commission. Maybe the employee just had a bad day, I don't know, and I don't hold it against said person, but I will definitely avoid that person again. Yesterday upon me return, I was immediately greeted by Amanda whom was so very helpful in making recommendations and educating me on the fits and brands that would most likely work well for my body type (narrow shoulders, broad chest, very slim waist, and broad seat). I made it clear to Amanda that she was extremely helpful and I would be a while and wasn't sure if I would be purchasing that day and I wanted to shop and take measurements so if she wanted to work with other customers please do so. I later met Eddie whom was extremely personable and checked up on me and had some great modern fashion insight (he was very well-dressed and representing the department very well in my opinion); his demeanor was refreshing and warm and welcoming. Luqman gave me indubitably outstanding and exceptional customer service; I felt like royalty. Maurice was a gentleman, very informative and very helpful, had invaluable insight on fit, had exceptional customer service (absolutely exceptional), and in no way did I feel pressured to buy anything. You four individuals are my heroes for the day! Thank you (in no particular order) Amanda, Eddie, Luqman, and Maurice. I hope your supervisor reads this as I feel very well taken care of, will absolutely be recommending this department, will more than likely return in the future if there is something I might purchase that you carry, and also feel that your supervisor is definitely doing something right. Warmest...
Read moreThis review is in specific to Jessica in the women's shoe department. As soon as I was walking through the shoe aisles, Jessica began following and circling me, as if I was going to steal or whatever. Anyhow, I carried on seeking for a shoe I'd like to try. When I finally found a shoe, I turned around and Jessica ran for the hills. I followed her to the desk and observed as she suddenly seemed to be lost doing nothing. I placed the shoe on the counter and waited for her to acknowledge me, which after much disbelief that I was standing in front of her, she then finally asked "how can I help you". She asked me the size I was looking for and with the biggest smile on her face she said that size wasn't available. (I highly doubt that indeed this size was out) I asked for the next size up, she scanned my request and then proceeded to check out employees behind the counter? Needless to say, Jessica ignored me from that moment forward. It's evident that Jessica was projecting her discriminatory views upon me from the moment I walked into the store and when it came time to fulfill her job duties she was a reluctant and neglectful as any racist person can be. By natural expectancy, she didn't care to update me how long the wait would be. Another worker noticed me waiting and in literally no time he came back with the pair of shoes. If I could give Jessica a 0, I would. She is the epitome of what's wrong with America.
On the other hand, I give a 5 star review to Carl who also works in the women's department. Carl was patient, friendly, professional with the guests in front of me and exceptional when it was my turn to be checked out. He went over and beyond, informing me of the extra stars a customer would get for signing up to the rewards program and he even applied the $10 credit on the spot. Now Carl is an exceptional Macy's employee with an expanded view and mindset, who didn't allow his personal discriminatory preferences to override his work performance.
Carl, I do hope you get the recognition / promotion you deserve as you're an inspiring leader in a world that apparently still hosts old fashioned narrow minded...
