Be careful crossing these borders. The signs mean what they say except when they're wrong but pay close attention because carrying contraband even having cardboard boxes stacked up that are visible from outside the car can get you pulled over into secondary for inspection. And they take their time in the inspection because they want to see how nervous you get. If you show a lot of concern, they're gonna look closer because they're going to think that perhaps they have a smuggler and you can't ever tell if they're stopping smugglers just to get their hands on this contraband or if they're looking to find you, but all these things can happen so be careful. Try to look unconcern as your crossing and don't cross in the inside lane next to secondary it's the easiest place for them to stop you and pull you over not that they can't pull you over anywhere but my experience has been cross on foot. That way you have a lot less chance of being stopped. They have dogs since several they're looking for drugs coming into Mexico and as long as you don't have those, you usually can walk right through you have to stand for a long time on the line so if you're disabled plan to bring a little extra money to pay for a wheelchair pusher or at least bring a device that has a seat so that you can rest up because it can be a long walk across that border, but you'll spend the same amount of time crossing in a car and it's much more stressful people are dodging in and out of lanes and shaking their vests and looking for places to use the restroom. It's much harder than...
Read moreI was arrested trying to drive into Mexico on a motorcycle. Lane splitting traffic a female officer jumped in front of my bike and suddenly a giant idiot CBP guy cuffs me and takes me inside. I threatened to sue the fools and they changed their tune real quick. Within 20 minutes a supervisor came in and said I was free to go. I asked why they're stopping people in rush hour "we are trying to prevent gun smuggling and theft of motorcycles into mexico." Cool story my guy..... do you really think they're going to do that at 5pm on a Thursday?
This is just another excuse for CBP and the US government to make crossing harder, because more people cannot afford to live in the USA and want to live in mexico but work in the USA. It's a control method for the masses...
Read moreThey pulled me into an inspection spot wanting to look at my car registration. After entering data and looking at my drivers license and Passport he asked on Google Translate how long I had the Subaru. 5 months. They weren’t interested in looking at my insurance because they gave it back to me when they saw it was my insurance papers. After more time elapsed he asked me what I was going to do in TJ. I told him go where the tourist goes then eat somewhere. He then told me I could go. Apparently all they were looking if it was my car or not. That was the sole reason for the big holdup. . It was really...
