I reached out to Billy on IG after seeing an ad for his SMP clinic. I had a couple questions right off the bat that would help me decide whether I’d want to seriously consider getting it done. He responded right away and gave me his phone number so we could talk about it. In a nutshell, once I realized how much control the SMP artist has over the nature of the result, coupled with Billy’s desire to find out and achieve exactly the look I was going for, I was ready to go. A lot of guys go for that bold, hard lined-up look and use a really dark color. For me, I was only interested in going for a more natural, subtle effect and rounded hairline, like how my scalp looked when I first started shaving my head. That way I’d still look like “me” once it was done. This is exactly the result we achieved! We did a free, in-person consultation/planning session, 3 paid SMP sessions (one per week) and then a free follow-up/touch-up session 2 weeks after that. I believe his pricing is very fair compared to some of the larger operations you’ll find out there, and it’s hard to imagine somebody else being more professional and easy to work with than he is. The clinic is legit, equipped with all the gear and supplies needed to do the job safely and comfortably. It also became apparent right away when we did the in-person consultation that he is super diligent, patient and detail-oriented, which is absolutely necessary for good results. I can confidently give Universal Scalps a 10/10 recommendation for SMP...
Read moreMy experience with Billy was flawless. I had a unique situation, and he handled it all so professionally from start to finish. It really was amazing!
I had three facial hair transplant procedures back in the 2000s using the "strip method." At the time, I had enough hair on my head that I wasn't worried about the scar that was left behind. As the years passed, however, I had less and less hair on my head, and decided that shaving and clipping my hair very close was the best way forward for me.
Unfortunately, this now meant that I would be exposing the large scar on the back of my head. After living with it for a couple of years, I saw a tattoo artist who filled in the scar with a grey color. This softened the brightness of the scar, but it created a new problem: There was now an obvious line of grey color on the back of my head.
I lived with that new problem for several years, but finally decided this year that it was time to consider addressing it. Billy was the first micropigmentation artist I contacted, and within a week I had my first appointment with him. His communication skills were great, and his studio was very clean. I also loved that it was just a quick bike ride away from where I live in Bankers Hill to his office downtown.
The before/after pictures speak for themselves. (The first two pictures are "before" and the second two pictures are "after.") Amazing work, Billy! Thank...

He took the time to listen to my concerns, explain every step of the process, and make sure I felt completely comfortable. His attention to detail is unmatched, and his passion for his craft is obvious in the way he works.
The results? Absolutely incredible. Billy’s work is so natural and precise that it gave me back not only my hairline but also my confidence. I look in the mirror now and feel like the best version of myself. The transformation is more than skin deep…it’s emotional, and I can’t thank him enough.
