Green + Anchor Luxury Hair Extensions Salon — Local services in San Diego

I am posting this review based on a 10 month service I received from Green and anchor Salon . As it is not my Usual practice to post reviews I feel this one is very important to warn women about the damage that can be done to your hair by receiving extension services there. Briana the owner brings a Savy Organic feel to this salon with excellent marketing via website and instagram . I have to give her that she has done her homework as a business owner . Unfortunately, she lacks the experience necessary to give the look she promises and no less at a mighty dollar. There is no other way to let people know then to just lay out the facts . She States there’s no glue involved. That’s a lie!.. She uses glue to glue together all of her extensions and you often leave with clumps of it in your hair. She states she uses hand tied hair. That’s a lie! Her primary hair that she uses is hair and compounds it is machine tied just like any other inexpensive hair you can buy online. She took pictures of my hair over several different visits of putting extensions in and out and told me that I had NO BALD spots which IS WHAT I DO HAVE all over my head and when she was questioned she just says “oh your hair is gotten so much longer” I have lost a ton of hair due to her lack of experience hence tightening the beads way to tight, leaving a head that hurts for days. . It’s not worth loosing all your hair . She frequently damaged my hair by not using any protective measures with bleach, and rarely gave me a color that I was satisfied with. In fact I had to have all of my hair cut off even though I used quality salon products and went the extra mile to deep condition my hair, the damage done by her “organic” products was irrevocable. It’s just absolutely necessary to be honest. When I finally went to her and expressed my concerns regarding the quality of the hair she asked me to Reinstall it and let her know if I was satisfied. After the right side of my weft fell out for the second time in two weeks I contacted her and let her know how unhappy I was with the hair as it was unraveling from the base . She was Kurt and unprofessional , she did however offer to replace it And then re-counted that offer two days later. I spent $4500 in 10 months with her at her salon . She Dosent deserve the business and surely isn't good enough to charge that much . Dont waste your time or money and end up with bald spots like me . Go to the experts in Laguna...

The moment I walked into Green & Anchor hair salon, I knew this was no ordinary place. Beginning with the space itself, it has extremely high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows. You actually feel as if you are outside and one with nature! This fits perfectly with the products used at Green & Anchor as they are produced primarily using botanicals without toxins and harmful chemicals which harshly impact hair and the environment. This salon is also part of a co-opted group that recycles all packaging and anything else that can be renewable! This is a truly "clean" salon!

As to the people that work for this amazing salon, they are all highly skilled and superbly trained stylists that were just as incredible as the rest of this businesses attributes. All extremely attentive, interested, caring and professional. If not getting an amazing scalp massage or relaxing at their shampoo area with a warm organic herbal oil scented towel over my head, I was being asked what snack or beverage they could bring for me.

As to my hair, I'm not even sure there are words to describe the unbelievable transformation I experienced! I have had hair extensions for over 10 years, some good experiences, but many with numerous disappointing results. (I have very fine hair) The hair extension quality at this salon is so far beyond the quality of any I had ever experienced, it defies description. I did not even know hair like this existed! The customized color was just as remarkable and I could even tell that these health and earth friendly products were like nothing I had ever experienced before. The thick consistency of the tints as well as the botanical scents were just, "otherworld"! Finally, the method used to install these luscious hair extensions was also new to me and are apparently often referred to as INVISIBLE, because they are! (I know this is hard to believe, but when I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, I don't even need to do a thing to my hair! It looks already styled! Not kidding!) NEVER has my hair looked this great, ever!

My stylist was (and is) Brianna, the salon owner, but do not be concerned about seeing any of her staff for the look of a lifetime! You will not be...

I came here on a last minute whim for a haircut before I left on a vacation and I am so happy that I did. The salon practices and their decor is incredible. Plants everywhere, open and airy, and the best bathroom selfie lighting I've ever experienced. Not to mention the fact they don't use unnecessary chemicals, no parabens, no sulfates, no mineral oil, and they have a recycling program!!

As for the haircut itself, I saw Ellery and she did an incredible job. I came in armed with reference photos for Brigette Bardot-esque curtain bangs and she was attentive while I was describing what I was going for. After really hearing me and looking at the photos I brought in, she took the time to explain how a cut like that would transfer over to my own hair texture and thickness. Then, she suggested slight adjustments while not trying to change my mind. The result was a haircut that is so similar to my reference photos, yet unique and customized to me! I felt really seen, heard, and ended up with an amazing haircut. Too often, hairstylists will either give you exactly what you ask for without explaining the limitations of your individual hair, or they go completely rogue cutting what they think will look good on you and you don't look at all how you anticipated. This was not the case with Ellery!

I also came in with damaged, scraggly ends and requested her to only take off half an inch (every hairstylist's nightmare lol). She again listened to me, explained some options, and ultimately took as little as possible off my ends while still cleaning them up.

Ellery truly gave me the best experience and I cannot recommend her enough. Stop reading these reviews and just go...
